I went back to try and recreate it a few years later and that entire lake is now gone. I walked the tiny creek and found the remains of a beaver dam a couple of km upstream. Flash flood took it out from the looks of it.

I just realized how retarded I look.

I did just to document it because it was interesting... revisiting old places is always fun. There wasn't much to look at though. It had been quite a while from the looks of it, so it was mostly a boring scrubby field with some driftwood scattered around. The creek is very windy so you only see a tiny bit of it at any one time meaning there isn't much of a focal point or any good lines. Plus the lighting was really harsh since I had showed up well in advance to set up and get some good lighting later on. Wasn't worth hanging around and waiting though so I bailed to keep looking for animals.

I'll have to go back in the spring sometime after a good rainfall, there will at least be some form of a stream. If there's ever a dam again I'll definitely get some fall colours.

Tried to get a good shot of clouds today with trees below and I simply couldn't get the color on both to stand out as you see it in real life. Either I got good tree color or I got great cloud color despite fiddling with everything. Probably just need a better lens I guess
