How do I change my style? I've been taking different variations of the same pictures for years. Have you ever drastically changed your style? What did you do? Tips and ideas welcome. On a side note does anyone know of any instructional books or websites that teach framing your photographs? I'm going to dump some rolls so you can see what I mean.

Try a new subject or genre to see if that gets you out of your rut. Go innawoods or try portraiture or something.

Buddy I have the same problem

It looks more like a diary sans text than a portfolio. You could try adding writing to your pictures. You could try avoiding familiar and "easy" light like sunrise, sunsets, and overcast days.
Or consoom. Buy a stupid divergent lens like an UWA or a very long telephoto that forces you to take a totally different picture instead of walking around with a "neva missa shot!" wide-standard. Perennial photographer favorite because gear does matter a bit. Cameras are inherently limited.

Or, you can do the hard thing you really do not want to do, which is take photos of mid art hos posing under trees at 6am and then move up to sitting them on your couch and surrounding them with cheap novavox strobes

mid art hos are the last refuge of the visually illiterate
right after doing gear reviews

Do art hoes even still exist. I feel like that's a very 2014 kind of bitch.

Most importantly, they've piled on weight. Tragic considering their lack thereof was a big part of what made them hot.

my nigga you ever heard of a little thing called the motherfucking FOREGROUND? You're supposed to put shit in it. Right now, all of your photos are midground-background.

All of your photos suffer from excessive deadpanitis, where you are emulating deadpan/new topo but not learning any of the lessons. Build your image in layers. You need a visual joke, with setup and punchline in two different layers. Get low to the ground. Get close to an object in the foregound. Let it dominate a good percentage of the photo, and then tell the rest of the story behind it with the midground. Wide angle lenses help with this. Right now these all look like they're in the 28-35mm range. Get a 24mm. Get a 20mm. Or go the opposite direction and get a telephoto. Start shooting at sunrise and sunset. Middle of the day is photography death. It's boring. It's google street view.

Start looking at other photograpers besides Stephen Shore and Eggleston. Trent Parke is a good start.

Solid advice. That's something I've been working on. Sometimes it's really hard when I'm taking pictures of buildings I like. But I'm trying to be more mindful of that fact. If I can't find anything I'm filling the frame more than I was last year when those were taken. Any other photographers you like that I should look at? Always looking for photographer recommendations. Thanks.
