I hate r8 fags, why wont you spend more money and get r6ii?
>>4332070why waste money on that trash?

>>4332070Why would I spend 70% more money on something that will perform the same (in the hands of a beginner/intermediate photographer which the R8 was intended for)?[EXIF data available. >>4335115>A hobbyist woudn't care about itYou'll never use flash or shoot under artificial lights or shoot with an OOF background and high shutter speeds or...?>A downside but the majority of the RF lenses have builtin IS"3 stop IS" isn't actually very good at all. IBIS is so much better, and you can use any fucking lens you want, even adapted ones. It's nice. And it's also a standard feature on a bottom end micro four thirds from 2012. Canon did not omit this for technical reasons. They omitted it to create more motivation to see the R6II as a major upgrade. Same reason they put the tiny ass battery in - with the R6II battery it would last 1000+ shots, with shots equaling cipa's shot interval*screen runtimeThese are the only two things that really matterCanon fucked you hard. The two big features you are missing (full mech shutter and IBIS) are not super new, super high tech, super expensive shit. Canon didn't include them specifically because they hate you. But at least you have high FPS jello shutter for taking photos of a living mop.
>>4335115You said it would perform the same, it doesn't. Saying "in the hands of a beginner" doesn't change that. >No mechanical shutter>A hobbyist woudn't care about itYes they would, it ruins the depth of field at higher shutter speeds>No IBIS>A downside but the majority of the RF lenses have builtin ISYou will never have the same number of stops of stabilization >No dual card slots>Not a professional camera, not neededIt doesn't need to be professional, redundancy is always important >No AF joystick>You can use the touch screen and it's more preciseIt isn't, and the joystick is better when looking through the viewfinder.>No control dial>Two dials + the lens control ring is enough in 99% of the casesNot nearly as fast or convenient>Smaller buffer>So?You can't take as many pictures in a burst>Smaller battery>Still lasts 300-500 shotsThats nothing>Lower max shutter speed due to EFCS>NopeEFCS has a max shutter speed of 1/4000, a mechanical shutter would give you 1/8000>Lower resolution EVF>So, are you only viewing your images through it?You're literally viewing the world in front of you. You're missing out on details and focus accuracy.>Meanwhile you get the same processor and sensor in a smaller form factor for ~60% of the priceSo first it was 70%, now its 60%? The Mk2 is 1999, the R8 is 1299, that's 35% less. Even if you're considering a markup thats still only 53%. You suck at math.
It will never cease to amaze me how the industry gaslighted you all into really thinking that IBIS matters for stills (it’s a video feature, chuds).
>>4335131Its actually awful for video, constant distortion if you aren't using a dedicated gimbal. Its for shooting in low shutter speeds.I've been able to shoot handheld with a full second shutter speed and that shit still comes out crisp.
>>4335131>IBIS doesnt matter because portraits are shot with flash and weddings cant use low shutter speeds. Otherwise bring a tripod. Damn kids! Back in my day…Alright gramps dont forget to walk uphill both ways
>>4335115The R8 is perfectly acceptable entry-level full-frame. You'd gain more from spending that $700 difference in a couple of nice lenses than in features you're never going to use. That said, there are legitimate reasons to want those features, especially for professional work. If you're just starting out, then by the time you start feeling the limitations of the R8, there will be something better out there than the R6ii.
>>4335141Thank you canon marketing department i love buying my camera twiceBuyinng expensive garbage and then upgrading is the american way. I love buying things. Buying things is why i get better. So i can but crippled shit and then upgrade. Then i lose as much as i would have spent if i just got the good one on resale - or even more with a manufacturer/dealer trade in deal! I love constantly giving money to giant international businesses! I love losing money!
Reminder canon would still be making over 100% profit if they sold the r6ii for the same price as the r8They omit $15 of parts and charge you hundreds less to give you an excuse to buy two cameras instead of one
>>4335141The R8 is fine if you're retarded but its a terrible value, that's why everyone just recommends the R7 because it has most of those features but >crop sensor
>>4335144>Reminder canon would still be making over 100% profit if they sold the r6ii for the same price as the r8Nobody is forcing you to upgrade. Even if you only had money for an R6ii and the kit lens, you'd be better off buying an R8 with a kit and a couple of primes. That's the whole point of entry level cameras.>>4335145The R7 is better than the R8 in pretty much every way, except for the sensor size. Depends of what you value, I guess.
>>4335158Meant to reply to >>4335143
>>4335158you’d be better off buying a d750 lmao>BUTThe cannot a camcorder. Not a photography camera.
>>4335158There's a reason why the R8 is the second most sold canon camera and in top 10 across all brands
>>4335128>IBIS is a standard feature on a bottom end micro four thirds from 2012My E-PL2 is finally good for something and it's shitting on Canon. I am satisfied.
>>4335284because normie consoomers don't get a lot of mileage out of their rational mind, duh>normie consoomer living life moment to moment and paycheck to paycheck: it is my duty to buy and lose money on garbage before buying something nice. once i reach the limits of the R8 I will buy an R6II.>high IQ: if i was wasting money on trial garbage i'd spend closer to, oh, i don't know, $100, not $1300. olympus om-d for me, or actually i'll sit and think and decide if i really want to do photography then i'll buy a nice camera and use it for years.
>>4335398>Went from an old D7000 to a T7 when I was broke after college>Had it for years, felt severely limited after having shot with some professional cameras>Finally decide to upgrade>R8 and R6MkII as my choices>Not sure if the extra price of the R6 was worth it>Try out my friend's R8 for a day>fuckno.jpg>Bought the R6MkII and never looked backThe R8 is basically a camera for beginners who want to brag that they have a full frame sensor. I grew out of the T7 immediately, and the R8 was no different.
>>4334990Heh you can see a lil ant on the 'comb, quite neat
>>4334990>Enhanced-NRYou know what would actually perform the same as an r6 in the hands of a total retard who uses AI cope? a micro four thirds setup for 1/4 the price
>>4335464Here's the same image without the AI "cope"Can you pinpoint the difference? Also absolute retard take, since both the R8 and R6II have the same sensor and the same image processor[EXIF data available.
