would be called the shitty rendering of a soft vintage lens if it was manufactured by any other company.
>>
>>4333651
Sure, go for the trite Leica hate. Again.
>soft
Yeah, no. You'll have to at least try something other than that.
>>
Minolta AF 85/1.4 is soft as shit wide open and methinks costs that much only because of this.
>>
>>4333661
The Tomioka 55 1.2 has the same characteristics.

It does look suspiciously close to the Chinesium Glow, but I know better than to fight a consooomer over their favorite marketing team. Let them glow in peace.
>>

>soft
Yes, actually. You can just look at leica MTF charts and see this yourself. Lenses are, after all, a science. There is no art. There is no soul. At the beginning, lenses were designed by mathematicians. Then, they were designed by computers.

Or, if you've owned a camera for at least a year, you've surely used a <$100 vintage SLR/chinese MILC lens. These "soft" lenses do render every single detail in the center, they're not totally ruinous to IQ, but there's a subtle blur that's distinctly optical for the first few stops of aperture and the edges of the frame are never truly crisp.

This is the same performance as the majority of leica lenses. Decently sharp in the center, sharpness falloff, sort of "glowing".

this is your reminder to burn $35 on a Signet 35 if you live in North America, it's one of the best values in rangefinders, comes apart with nothing but a flathead screwdriver and 10 minutes, is noticably smaller than a barnack, doesn't have any light seals to fail, shoots full frame, and has a genuinely nice 'murican-made coated tessar lens

Where to cop that chain? Looks sick.
>>
>>4333678

I actually have one of these! They are very underrated and I think I paid 8 bucks for mine.

I had to calibrate the rangefinder and clean it too. These things are severely underrated.
>>
>>4333684

Found a few in a camera shop. Search "german metal camera strap" that's where almost all of them were made. I got like 5 including one for my Signet.

Nothing personal, kid.

Mine doesn't and I have long hair. The trick is to wash your fucking hair and brush it, basic hair care, and exfoliate dead skin.

Love how the Leica hate shitpost always turns into a leicabro thread, they can’t meet our power level. Took my m4-2 out to see a steam engine making a stop in town today, it’s such a nice shooting experience but I feel 35mm was too tight to capture a full loco. They had a tarted up f40ph even. Fun times. Hopefully acros behaves in harsh mid day light.

Kek, it's just not a chain that pinches hairs despite looking like one. Prob because the links are rounded either from wear or being a decent quality chain. That said, I got a TAG Heuer from work that I couldn't wear without changing the band so did the right thing and sold it to some hairless Californian.
>>
>>4333688
Cool, I’ll take a look. Though now that I think about it, I wonder if it would really be a good idea for black paint bodies.

buy an old nikkor 55mm f1.2 non-AI. glow galore at f1.2.

If anyone else had their reliability track record they'd either be out of business, or not actually a camera company (sony)

Most of them have a plastic cover on the business end or a rubber grommet to prevent rubbing on the body. I have one on a black body Photomic F and it's fine.

not sure how i feel about acrosII. for almost double the price i don't like it any better than kentmere. And it's the only film to date of the many stocks i've tried that's jammed up my tank reels. not sure why, it also felt like it was struggling to push the full roll through. Thicker stock than others maybe? have an unedited train snapshit.

yeah. as far as i know, it's the thinnest interchangeable lens with an adjustable aperture. the focus ring is a bit wobbly, but it's only $300 so who cares. goofy lenses like this are a very fun part of m mount imo

Amazing Leica Glow™ this is the most Leica Glow® ever seen before in the history of Leica Glow© this look cannot be replicated by ANY other gear combination other than a Leica Camera™ AG M series® body and a Leitz Wetzlar® lens.

Leica lenses literally are softer at the edges due to not correcting for the shorter flange distance. This is just fact. You can go on about "micro contrast" and "3D pop" or whatever nonsense, but you can't deny actual physical measurements.
