How to become a great photographer?
>>
>>4369569
Take pictures of nothing but attractive women - but be a woman, or gay.
>>

>Take pictures of nothing but attractive women - but be a woman, or gay.
Or be Jewish and get your mediocre photos displayed in some art gallery because the owner is also Jewish.
>>
>>4369574
That doesn’t work anymore. The gallery owners are all chinese.
>>
>>4369576
Or perhaps they are Russian bots?
>>
>>4369578
Indians have Steppe Aryan DNA so are you sure about Russians?
>>
>>4369569
Easy part: take photos of subjects you find interesting until you are consistently very good at it.
Difficult part: take very good photos of subjects other people find interesting.
>>
>>4369574
…and you put an exhibit together of content they asked for.

But yeah who needs details, just convert & change your name to shmeckleburg and wonder why the calls from the galleries, Hollywood, and executive boards from banks aren’t bearing a path to your door.
>>
>>4369640
>subjects other people find interesting.
What are those?
>>
>>4369748
Tits, normally
>>
>>4369748
whatever's popular
>>
>>4369569
learn the zone system and composition. then meditate until you get a sense of self. then take good pictures of things that relate to that self so you can stand out. take enough standout photos to be able to make a coffee table book from them (maybe 100 pics idk). eventually once you have enough good pics to separate them into different photo series or projects, youre like halfway there there.
>>
>>4369748
I don't think there are simple answer or formula to that. That's why it is difficult.
Some photographers can take a subject nobody ever asked a photo of and make it interesting.
Some can take a common subject and make it fresh and so on.
It's also possible to take photos with no subject at all (I confess I'm guilty of that) but I think it's not the way to great photography...
>>
>>4369569
take a ton of photos and delete 95-97% of them til you see something of interest, also learn about camera modes, try out manual focusing and vintage glass
>>
>>4370058
It's ok Anon, there is a mass awakening.

>pointing out truth =/= racism
lol at this pathetic attempt at optics
>>
>>4371109
what are you on about? hes very right. more than right actually. brainwashed normies will not only call you racist but they will actually, unironically think you are racist, even if you only as much as hint at a piece of factual information that makes a whole group or race of people look bad.

and thats another thing as well, you are not the one making them look bad or evil or whatever, they are the ones making themselves look bad with their actions, you are just a person pointing their bullshit and/or evildoing out and making people aware of it....but they will try to make you look like the bad guy for pointing it out, because all their brains hear is you talking shit about a whole group of people, they dont care about if what you say is true or not, they just see that youre talking shit about a whole group of people which in their brainwashed heads equals to you being racist.

I think that's pretty hard now. I started 35 years ago, and stock photography and people just outright stealing your material online is so rapid it's impossible to deal with. And unless you're absurdly rich and can hire a lawyer you won't ever get money out of these people

this is near impossible nowadays... for 2 main reasons;

1 - with the accessibility of decent cameras on everyone smartphone nowadays, has also come the fact that everyone and their grandmonther now thinks they can be their own photographer and think that ''they can do a better job if they just tried'' and so also with that, the general interest (and respect) for arts and creative fields in general, not just photography, has almost died entirely, it has come to the point where you now have only a few main photographers in major agencies, companies or even solo photographers who are doing well....and even if you do manage to get lucky and get famous and be one of them, even then its pretty hard to find clients/people who want your service...

2 - on top of the aforementioned, you also have like 4-5 wedding/automotive/fashion/whatever photographers in xyz country, that hold complete monopoly over that xyz field or multiple fields in that particular country or wider.... and its so bad that its come to the point where its not even worth it to try and make money off those particular fields to any new or existing photographers in those countries.

im a pretty good photographer creatively, been taking pictures as a hobby since i was a kid and throughout the years i had my pictures publishes in a number of nature magazines and museums and so on (nothing serious, just me sending in pics for fun)... so back in 2017 i got tired of working 8 hours a day and i wanted to try to become a photographer, but i didnt know how bad things were and i made a huge mistake of not doing my own research (business wise not photography wise) so i ended up spending exactly $21,570 on photography gear, lenses, studio equipment... i even bought a separate laptop and a pc that would be used as my work computers, only to find out that my entire country is fucked with photographers holding monopoly in each field... in 5 years from 2017 to 2023, i had only 6 clients, 3 of who i did for free

Step 1. Hire a young blonde girl everyone will want to bang.
Step 2. Make her pose in clothes or not in clothes, doesn’t matter.
Step 3. Take piccures of it using quite literally any fucking equipment on earth, digital, film, large format, daguerreotype, sunlight reflecting off a building scorching contact paper, charcoal, oil paints, watercolors, chalk, graphite, a pointy stick in the sand.
Step 5. Do it 100 times. Now you have a body of work with a dedicated focus worthy of grad school in nyc and an entry into galleries.
Step 6. Sell books of it. Fill with pages of drivel about arcane thoughts on nonsense, and pictures of young blonde girls tits & ass..

That’s it, that’s the secret formula.
>>
>>4374615
Now the reality, the only models you’ll get are brunettes and are worn out & tired of working for broke ass young artists, & by the time you’re old enough to ask the hot unknown blondes to model for you, you’ll be too old and they’ll think you’re a creep & just trying to get laid. So you’ll take your studio of shit and shoot landscapes, then flowers, then with more gear wildlife, then your cat & dog, & then settle in for a lonely few final decades of life putting bird feeder out to snap birds through your window. And then you will have become a successful photographer at the end of the career path, just like the rest of us.

this is one of the best advice and one of the best job market descriptions for photographers i have read

>>4374620
and this is the most accurate description of a life of a photographer i have read in all of /p/ existence, for lives of 90% of photographers in the world

Make sure you buy the most expensive camera and lens in the market, and upgrade every few months.

Ask yourself this, who is a great photographer who has appeared in the last 5-10 years?
If you can’t name any, that should show you the scale of the problem.

Well this is more of a modern age field scale problem than anything else - too many people, every special skills value is ''normalized'' and everyone thinks they can do it better themselves, so there's drastic, declining interest and respect for that comes as the main part of the problem - and also, it's an issue in almost any field that survives off selling arts, crafts or services to others, it's not just photography... And it's even prevalent outside of arts, crafts and service related fields - one of the most important examples outside of that, would be science related fields, even science related fields nowadays have the same exact problem; There was I believe more than a dozen of absolutely huge, very, very important scientific breakthroughs that happened over the past 10 years alone, so important that they are on the scale of Penicilin discovery for antibiotic use... And yet... When was the last time you have heard of anything huge, science related news like that on the news or on the internet? Chances are, you didn't, neither did 90% of other people... Nowadays, every bit of creativity, every bit of incredible skill and craftsmanship and just everything in general, is ''normalized'' just... Heavily devalued by loss of interest, respect and importance in the eyes of other people... It's a huge issue...

Anyhow, people, in general, just don't have interest in and don't appreciate or respect amazing art - or art in general - nowadays - especially with cameras being available on everyones phone and entry level cameras being so good and so cheap to the point everyone has a huge ego now and thinks ''I could become a photographer if I tried'' or maybe ''I can do it better than him/her if I tried'' so with that, the value, respect and general interest in arts dropped even further...

There are still people who need and/or appreciate good photography but the market shrunk a billion times over, compared to how big it was in early 2000's up to early 2010's.

Step 1....Don't try to be. It just happens on its own.

Step 2...Price doesn't equal performance. Dropping bucks on a Leica or a Lomo doesn't make one a photography god.

well aktschually!!! ive found that women who do modeling, who are not completely fresh to the whole scene, will accept your requests/calls more times when you say you have a hassie/p1 or leica, than when you say you have a canon/nikon/sony/fuji.

Name one model that was more concerned about the camera than the paycheck.

leicalet seething

just casually show up with your leica and bam instant pussy. this happens every day to almost every leica owner. leicas are actually super shit cameras made of $350 in parts. its their borderline magical sexual powers that jacks the price up. meanwhile if you shoot panasonic you’ll be stuck jackin to anime titties.

you chronically online dipshits are obviously not familiar with the modeling scene nowadays (or even to be frank, you probably dont even take photos) one of the first replies you get back from gen z models is them asking for your IG, your camera that youll be shooting with and how much money...... sometimes they dont even say hi or do the little chit chat that older models usually do before getting to the main deal.

thats why i only work with russian and asian models. always on time, polite, respectful, talk like normal human beings and even if they have a big ego, they dont shove it in your face like stuck up bitch models from western eu countries or united states
>>
>>4376791
>first replies you get back from gen z models is them asking for your IG, your camera that youll be shooting with and how much money.
No one has ever asked me what camera I'll be using. Not even once. It's just pure snoyboy cope. I shot nudes last month with a fucking PENTAX
>>
>>4377019
>comparing shooting ewhores and amateur wannabe models with doing actual fashion work
>nudes
first of all, heres your obligatory fake and gay response
secondly, if nobody is asking you about your gear, setup and style, then youre shooting the lowest of the low, might as well your local red light district equivalent and ask to do a shoot with a street whore while youre at it. now, putting your porn aside, try doing actual fashion photography and then try booking with actual models and watch everything i said happen on your very first try. also depending on how high up you aim, watch yourself get rejected by 99 out of 100 of stuck up, egotistic brats, because your style is and i quote; ''not their vibe'' or because, i quote again ''you dont shoot with <insertcameramanufacturername>'' the higher up you aim, the more of these you get and if you have a hassie or p1, you literally start living in easy mode the moment you mention that shit to these bitches, especially if you also mention your studio (if you have one), then she will even try to get you to shoot her friends too. seen it happen to my friend first hand dozens of times. biggest bullshit ever. a literal joke.
