What went wrong, sisters?
>>4378938>lolympiss>no evf>mftdid anything go right?
Maitani died.
>>4378938Their market of Japanese women 18-35 was already saturated and they put a JPEG dial on their flagship
>>4378948>no evfretard
>>4378938Sony took m43 out back and shot it while fuji watched and jerked off. Then with its soul gone it came back as a bird photography system, so canon dragged it out back and shot it again, with blessed silver buckshot.
>>4378938They forgot to make lenses with aperture ring to really capture the hipsters and those that wanted a fashion accessory. No I'm being serious.
Company got assfucked by inside corruption. Some guy stole millions of dollars of money while the company was already struggling to keep up in the market.Realistically though? As much as I think they're neat cameras, they just didn't do anything the best. People can yell about muh reech and weather sealing all they want, but APS-C options exist for the same money that do the same things but better, AND you're normally buying into a lens mount that has options for full-frame when you want a big-boy camera. M43's single saving grace imo is their ability to adapt vintage lenses, and with Olympus you got IBIS no matter what body you had, so it's the best way to use anything with a cheap adapter so long as the lens has an aperture ring.>>4378948that is the evf[EXIF data available. >>4379029>that is the evfFuckin whoops. I mean the EVF is the hump on the right of OPs pic you can see
>>4378938All the chips went into M43 and didn't diversify nor put much effort because even Panasonic at least put video features hard to beat for a while.IMO they have the best JPG/SOOC engines along with Fuji and optically pretty good but the bodies are not cheap enough for the market who would feel satisfied with only those features.
>>4378938wrong product at the wrong time really. Retro style rangefinder wasn't really a hit until 2020s even though we had fuji x100 series and this before then.
>>4379029>M43's single saving grace imo is their ability to adapt vintage lensesYou can put vintage lenses on any canon/sony/whatever crop, if anything it's better due to having good EVF and bigger screens on those. And it will be cheaper
>>4378938Its so close to 1” that it is prohibitively expensive to make the final result competitive with a cheaper mid range DX DSLR and most m43 cameras and lenses are pretty shit compared to DX/FX gear from last decade. Getting in to recent models costs as much as FF. But it looks almost exactly like 1”, ie: Rx100-7. Theres no appeal outside of arthritic bird fags and macro fags. Not necessarily poor ones because it costs as much as slapping old third party or canon ef glass on an older FF camera which generally still gets better results. The sole valuable gimmick is handheld focus stacking. Someone will mention m43 pixel shift but with most reasonable lenses it looks like an oil painting and doesnt work for most real life subjects.Selling a niche system that sucks balls for 90% of uses is difficult.
>>4379029As someone with an OM-D EM5ii gathering dust I mostly agree. It just does nothing better than my smartphone in daylight situation, I only keep it around for shooting with flash indoors. Whenever I take it out to shoot landscapes the results just disappoint and dishearten me. Where I disagree is with adapting lenses, besides macro the crop factor makes almost any lens inpractical and with teles focusing becomes extremely difficult. Peaking is hot trash. I got some good results plonking Minolta bellows and a Macro-Rokkor on it for super close ups though, so it has some niches where it can shine. But nowadays it's a waste of money.
>>4379113>besides macro the crop factor makes almost any lens inpracticalunfortunately this
>>4378938this thing with an evf would be a killer camera that would rape every fuji offering to deathbut nope, salary man had to be retarded
>>4379029>he thinks fuji AF is better than olympiss AFyou're retarded anon
>>4379142Nah I think Fuji is ass
>>4378938>What went wrong, sisters?Nothing
>>4379141the thing has an evf the hell are you talking about
>>4379160>micro fool turds rock themselves to sleep while coping by pretending a sony fished out of the ocean is normal water damagekek
>>4379060Somewhere on /p/ and angry g9ii shill is screeching about dynamic range because its almost as good on the g9ii as it is on the lowest dr ff canons and a cope ridden high speed snoyNever mind that every mft photo is speckled with a colored sandpaper effect and weird looking blurry details no matter how close your 5ev shadow recovery is to the worst ff sensors ever made
>>4379316>muh $2000 mft has apsc dr so fool frame is btfo because the $4500 fooframe for scamming money out of jpeg only sports photographers doesnt let you miss exposure by 5 stops>gets brurally mogged by a $500 d750
