False, as a local, you can go around photographing the abos when they're halfway into a can of petrol.
The citylife is fucked lately but you can still get some decent shots with older buildings and sheeit if you're a streetfag.
Hyde park is full of homeless people you can treat like a zoo because our housing situation is fucked.
The coast and beaches are actually quite lovely, and if you can be fucked going into greater sydney, our mountain ranges are pretty decent.

Victoria and Queensland on the whole have plenty of good photo spots. I've become pretty tired of city photos lately and have started checking out mountains and national parks in the Yarra Ranges, there's some amazing places out there if you're into nature stuff.

Limiting yourself to street is why you struggle. I've done street in Melbourne and you can get some really good photos if you pick the right place and the right time. Chinatown at night is excellent for street, as is along the river.
