>>4382825Based beyond belief Grusky is the Aryan King of /p/. Gursky filters Der Subhuman.
>Bawwwww rich people doing rich things, I hate that. Stop being poor.
it's a nice picture tho, really capturing
>>4382825This photo would've been more impressive if it wasn't just photoshop slop. Brushing things out (except dust) just feels like disingenuous photography to me.
>>4382825Gotta be some sort of whitewashing of money behind that transaction.
>>4385569Whenever governments take on money laundering in art so funds can be fully tracked their local art market fucking tanks.
>>4384813This
>>4382825It sucks
Gursky is an amazing photographer but it's kind of bullshit because he happened to be born in the time and place to be educated by the heirs of the Walker Evans lineage adored by MOMA. His early stuff is just a very skilled version of what many of us might do, but the inertia of his pedigree eventually allowed for unprecedented access to restricted places and no financial limitations. Still, the world would be a better place if the masses were forced to mentally engage with his work.
You can unironically see the grass cloning in the lower right corner lmao. Imagine paying any money at all for a crappy shoop of a picture of literally nothing.
>>4382827cat photos are always better, just don't brush them with sand and dust just after taking out of developing tank
>>4385670That's an extremely shitty jpg reproduction of a printed piece that's like 12' long. You have to view art in person to appreciate it, but of course that would involve leaving your mom's basement.
>>4385810>i-it's just a jp-ACKhere I made it easy for you to stop coping so you can effortlessly see the shitty cloning for yourself
lot of pseuds in this thread. this is an excellent photo and if you disagree, look at how it is exhibited and try to understand it's meaning or at least empathise with it's target audience (in gallery viewers, with implied locality)inb4 gearfag hylics screeching
>>4385816>doubling down on retardationcool bro
>>4385833/rpt/ must be world class then lol
>>4382825I even made a thread about it, but I really don't get itLike it's nice and all, but 4 milly?
>>4385905that's gursky influence. even the most entry level pleb is influenced by him
>>4382825>a thread in which autistic teenagers and groomers discover that prices are determined by what someone is willing to payyou can sperg out all the day but in the end someone thought this image would provide enough value for him to justify the $4.3 million cost. my guess is that you get a way better ratio laundering your money this way than in other ways
>>4385905/m43/ was but that's sadly gone as all the bakers have been banned or became crypto bros
>>4385908>have $8 million drug money>inofficially pay $8 million to shekelberg & stern auctions co. ltd.>officialy pay $4 million for that photo>use photo as collateral for a loan to officially buy stocks/crypto or invest in real estate>after a few years holding this piece of shit your stocks and investments are worth $8 million>not even try to sell that $4 million photo because you know it's worthless so keep it as collateral for loans
even reddit is ahead of you incel retardshttps://old.reddit.com/r/artbusiness/comments/19216qj/paint_get_appraised_repeat_secure_bank_loan/
>>4385772why not?
