Thinking to sell my g2 set finally and get a Bessa r2a eventually.I've been using it for around 10 years and it's a great great camerabut my concern is that it will eventually shit itself one day so better sell now.2 years ago the shutter stopped working and it was just a minor issue: a gear wheel worn off so got it replacedby some german professionals. The cameras size, feel, weight, ergonomics everything's just perfect to use. As you know the VF is small and dimm but never bothered me that much, the AF is always on point thoughbut the MF is another reason that bothers me bc you can't really accurately MF with it...Anyways i'm thinking to get a Voigtländer Bessa R2A maybe with either a Ultron 35mm or Nokton 35mm.Since the internet is fucking shit i'm depending on your opinions anons.I'd like to have a small 35mm lens. So that would be the Nokton/Ultron right ?My g2 set includes g2 body, 28mm,45mm,90mm lenses, all lens hoods, boxes, manuals, tla200 flash (will keep this one maybe) contax cable release etc. So in one hand this will bring me good money and on the other hand i will lose a great set of a brand....Give me your opionions please and post your Bessas if you own one thx.
>>4385435tl;dr: convince me to sell my g2 system and get a Bessa r2a with one 35mm lens instead
If the bessa's viewfinder is even half as good as a leica, you should buy it. And from what I've heard its on-par.A good finder does so much.
Buy my M6 lolHavent touched it since I got my hands on an M10R and decided to quit 35mm altogetherBut yeah G2 with TLA200 is really sweet if you treat it like a point n shoot, but its an electronic time bomb and you have to do surgery on its lenses if you wanna use it on other mounts
>>4385438I held a leica m just recently for the first time ever for a short time. it felt good and the VF was enormous. The Bessas should be allright i guess. Nowhere on the internet though i've found an image of a Bessa bodywith a Ultron 35mm + Nokton 35mm to fucking compare. They're both not big so i'll go with the f2 35mm Ultron i think.>>4385442Can't afford a Leica sorry bud :)the TLA200 is really awesome on ttl mode with the contax. I should keep that little flash though
Just buy a Canon 7
>>4385435i have an r2 and an r2m. the r2m i bought about two months ago becaue the shutter on the the r2 doesn't fire reliably and i didn't feel like waiting for repair. the r2m does feel a little more solid. vfs and rf patches aren't as large and flexible as leica's, but pretty niceas far as small 35mm lenses, the voigt color skopar is the smallest. nokton classic is what i have and is also very compact. i think one of the summicrons is very small but if you're thinking third party, light lens lab also has a small 35/f2. zeiss 35 biogon also looks comparably sized to the ultron[EXIF data available. >>4385435G2 is massively overrated, sell it asap. The viewfinder is awful, its such a disadvantage. Also they break down and whatever you paid for it is irrelevant. The true $ value you lost is what you could have sold it for on the day it broke down which should be over 2k with the lenses and flash.I could not believe when I brought an Olympus OM1 and the viewfinder just mogged the absolute hell out of the expensive G2.
>>4385609Ultron and Nokton are both compact but one goes f1,4 and the other one's sharper.i could use the 1,4 for the nice portraits of people and waifus thoughso i'm undecided yet.>>4385612would only agree on the part with the risk of breaking down. And that's why i want to sell it + for a camera with a affordable 35mm lens + MF focusing abilities etc...yeah i will grab all the parts and put it on ebay today.>g2 body, 28/45/90 lenses. contax leather bags for the lenses. all metal lens hoods. contax uv filters.>the boxes and manuals. one contax cable releaseShould be easily around 3000€ right ? (excluding the tla200 bc i love that little flash and will keep it)
>>4385615yes keep the flash, it'll go so well on a rangefinder
So here it is. Btw i can't believe my contax CZ lenses have 46mm filter diameter...they're optically so small though !! Now that i read about noktons or ultrons 35mm lenses being 39mm wow !!And why are there 2 versions of the noktons, 1 multi coated, 1 single coated. Why make a single coated lens anyways if you have a MC ? To sell it less expensive ?What's the benefit of single coated ?[EXIF data available. >>4385633>What's the benefit of single coated ?cool flares
>>4385633Very nice, easy sale if you put it for 3000€, trustfund asians will gobble it up like their life depends on it
>>4385436Bessa Rs are great. Awesome viewfinders and mechanics will last you a lifetime.
>>4385646i put it in exactly for that price. would be cool if some rich kid bought itand who knows maybe makes a youtube vid on it with zero review but hiphop muzzak and selfcentered talks...>>4385669plan is to get the r2a for it's 35mm frame lines + aperture priority lolThing is i really don't know where to fucking buy it...i live in Austria btwwhen i google it i get 2nd hand shops or ebay ads
>>4385635Some people also like the look of b&w film on single/uncoated glass.
>>4385688i guess i want a SC too then since i'll shoot film only with it.I've found out that r2a goes for around 1000-1200€ on the international market..r3a don't do it for me since no 35mm framelinesand one local guy's selling the r4a with a speedgrip for 1750€.Got 16 visits within the 24 hours so i hope it gets sold quickly so i can start a new "chapter" of snapshitting my time away hehe
>>4385435>but my concern is that it will eventually shit itself one day so better sell now.so send it off for repair
>>4385435I had a Besa 3a, and the build quality was pretty shit.If you're buying used, beware.
>>4386223>Contax G series>repairLol. Lmao even.
