Which of these do you prefer /p/? One is my Pentax 85mm f/2.8 soft (left @f/3.5) and the other is a Lensbaby 85mm f/1.8 Velvet (right @f1.8)). I have tried to match the images based on the rough size of the bokeh. I am torn and I want opinions. The Lensbaby has a nice swirl and slight vignette wide open that I actually really like. Whereas the Penax wide open (not shown) is basically unusable.
here are both lenses wide open. The extremely large bokeh becomes extremely distracting and dominates the photo.
here they are more reasonably matched. The Pentax still at f/3.5 vs the Lensbaby at f/2.8. Here the Lensbaby already looks basically like a normal lens. So really the Pentax is usable only at f/3.5 and narrower and the Lensbaby is only interesting above f/2.8

If you're not going to have both lenses focussed correctly then any comparison is pointless
Yeah I don't get what you're trying to do here. They look like they're focused at different distances and you aren't comparing them at even f-stops. I've never heard of a lensbaby, some new chinkshit brand? First example looks like Helios level background distortion but in a bad way.

>>4393215They both look like crap.
Pentax easyLensbaby makes trash lenses

>>4393215lmao nigga what?>lensbabylmfaooooo what the fuck even is that? too poor for real lens manufacturers?
They all look pretty much the same
>>4393215try taking a photo of something first, make sure it is nice and in focus on both lenses, then compare backgroundsthis can be a nice background, leds are sort of balanced, you just need a subject to make it a photo worth not culling
