That's rough but it's hardly better here, I live in a big us city and buying direct film from stores it's 12-15 for stuff like gold and Fuji but nearly 20 for cinestill or portra. Cheapest color is pro image 100 but you have to buy it in 5 packs for the discount to 9.99 a roll. cheapest color dev I've found is 8 dollars and they only do c41, I would have to mail or go to another town for e-6. My cheap dev and scan place is 14 bucks a roll. It's not like we're getting steep discounts here, though I guess having to deal with shipping is an added level of suck

I won't get into the murrican economy debate but film developing is cheaper than film itself everywhere, even the US. C41 is cheaper to develop but more expensive to buy a roll because dev is made with an automatic machine. BW is cheaper per roll but developing is made by hand and thus they charge almost twice for developing.
If the chinks deliver it's going to shake the market that's for sure, and if tariffs destroy the price advantage we're going to see some seething as well
