so this DCR-HC37(i guess HC38 and 45 also?) camcorder uses a "miniDV" cassettes? i think?
Now, why does it say its a "DIGITAL" camcorder if it uses a cassette?
will it still have cassette esque artifacts?
Am i completely missing something?

Magnetic tape can be used to store both digital and analog data streams.
Minidv is a digital format.
No you will not get analog artifacts with this format.
