People who actually lived through the 80s. Was it really a better time?
>>
Kill yourself nostalgia faggot
>>
>>472774486
Yes.
>>
>>472774486
yes because you weren't around.
>>
No cell phone was better.

>>472774533
At least he's not canadian.
>>
>>472774486
No, economic prospects were better, that’s it. Lots of crime and drug use.
>>
>>472774486
Anybody who was around in the 80s was 40 years younger than they are now. Of course it was a better time for them.
>>
>>472774486
I met my wife in the 80s. It was a based time.
>>
>>472774486
I got very rich in the 80s /90s from the Pharma trade
Lost a lot of it ,
Made it again now retired
It was fecking based af ..
so much sex drugges and rock an rolla ...

Society is much harder for Gen z now , quite sad really .
>>
>>472774844
Fent wasn't a thing yet. Coke wasn't laced with it back then.
In my area, only Vietnam vets and bikers did heroin.
De-industrialization hit my area hard, so economy sucked here.

I think the idea of rampant drug use in the '80s was a result of the "War on Drugs" and media hype.
>>
>>472774626
This, it's no wonder kids today are so fucking neurotic. I can't imagine what it must be like going through high school knowing any humiliation you might endure could go viral. I'd have been a youtube sensation like a dozen times over, I'd have probably had to kill myself.
>>
>>472775680
>the idea of rampant drug use in the '80s was a result of the "War on Drugs" and CIA flooding the Black ghettos with it and working with the Cartels to disrupt the country, all done by the Globohomo elites .

2010 society was closer to 1980s society than 2024 society.
Letting girls and normies on the internet and turning anyone under 30 into a social media phone zombie ruined everything.
>>
It depends. It was poor and shit but we were happy with what we got. No tv bullshit. No phones. No internet.
>>
>>472776437
You didn't have tv in the 80s in the eastern bloc?

It was simpler and you weren't comparing yourself with the entire world constantly whether you wanted to or not, as a matter of paying to live in this hellish high density poisoned and overpriced deteriorating landscape...anon, I...

But you can't put the genie back in the jar and further that it's all a sham. That your opinion, regardless how cultivated informed witty humble and or sincere even threatening, matters not the fuck at all. Lol

Our video games were crap compared to what they are, well were ten years ago. Now they suck again. Arcades and bowling alleys were kino hangouts.
We had super dangerous rides and toys, but if you want to have some fun. Deal with the scars.
Action Park was the best. Racing down a concrete half pipe at 30 mph on a skateboard with a seat.

That is correct.
Rarely saw drug problems in my town.
Mostly varying levels of alcoholism with a few closet weed smokers.
Crack was relegated to dark-skinned city slickers and most of them had decent work before the steel industry was off-shored. Crack whores in the 2000s had to get a ride to the city to suck nigger dick to get their fix. Cooking your product was frowned upon among the cokeheads.

It was better in the sense that at that time people generally considered only local politics to be relevant. I mean, we had the national elections, but nobody perceived their lives being impacted very much regardless of who won. Since that time, however, who is in power at the national level does make a difference in your day to day living.

In the 80s, you always had the option of simply being left alone to find your way. It doesn't work that way anymore with the left trying to impose its harebrained tyranny on political opponents any way they can through laws, legislation, delegating enforcement power to corporations and NGOs, etc.

TV was fantastic. Even the mostly forgotten programming is better than anything available today.

>>472774486
yeah. No niggers in movies, jews hadn't overtaken life yet. No niggers anywhere for that matter. On the minus side, nationalism was probably at its worst moment save the nineties, and bolshevik jews ran rampant in our institutions, most prominently education where they solidified their takeover later, by embedding the jew psychology from the seventies.
>>
>>472776985
the sad irony is, is that the jews who broke your state rights are the same jews that look to break up Russia and China into small dominable countries.

Here is something that no one really brings up about the 80s (and before then). FOOD. Everything tasted so much better. Someone who lived back then could never describe how good all the food was. Fast food tasted better, restaurant food tasted better, produce and veggies tasted better, even soda tasted better.

I don't know what the hell has happened in the past 10 years but everything tastes like SHIT now and is severely nutrient deficient. I wish I could bring fast food from that time to the present and let all the zoomers taste it.

You could feel the poison of hatred and violent rhetoric building through the 70's as cocaine became bigger and bigger in society until finally it exploded into murder. Cocaine is the murder drug.
>>
There was a lot of lingering crime and poverty left over from the 70s even though economic conditions were better overall once you get to about 1984 (80-83 were pretty bad).
>>
>>472774486
I was thinking about that last night, I counted the times someone tried to molest me, hurt me, rape or kill me, even though I lived in a sort of normal situation. People really did panic about pedophiles because were really everywhere. Maybe something to consider about the 80s. You'll hear some story about a murder and wonder how people can be so dumb and its true I guess but think about the 1000 times some creep try to rape a kid or kill someone and got away.

If I said something the 80s did the best and while the 90s and 2000s were still okay with this, the 80s was so super awesome when it comes to Halloween or generally any holiday. Its like passion for holidays shrunk down to just a pea sized but the 80s, holidays were everything to us. July 4th gotta have racks and racks of BBQ and go to the Indian reservation and get your own fireworks show, mortars and tons of fountains, roman candles and E40's or whatever those bombs were called.
>>
>>472777701
I watched a lot of baseball as a kid which is a thing here (bit like Cuba and Taiwan). Mets fan but also watched the Braves a lot, loving the tomahawk rooting. I think they won the leagues one time or teice even back then.
>>
>>472777853

>>
>>472777022
There were plenty of blacks in pop culture media/comedy back then, the difference was they were cast in reasonable roles, and most if not all were actually talented. Blacks knew their place and acted like it, all was well back then.
Funny how the old system worked far better when nowadays when they are emboldened and jew-empowered nigger rappers killing each other non-stop and the famous niggers are cast as the king of england in the 1700s or whatever, that's a problem.
>>

I am just saying that it's common sense that if a shift happened you wouldn't be able to notice it. You can't teleport food from the 80s and do a taste test.

Baltimore has always been a seaport shithole, just like every other seaport shithole in the world.
For the most part, white people were always safe there, even in the middle of the most nigger infested ghettos.
Niggers didn't really fuck with white people the way they do now.
There was a sense that, if niggers too the violence too far, trucks of white people were going to show up and just start killing a bunch of them.
This kept violence against whites to a minimum.

I hung out in Baltimore as a teen in the late 70s/early 80s.
Other than maybe being robbed gently, I was pretty safe. All the niggers knew better than to kill a white kid, back then.

I know the taste has changed because I have these things called taste buds and mine happen to be super taste buds. Taste and smell are the two strongest memory triggering senses. How many times have people eaten something and said "Well, it's good, but it's not as good as my mom made it when I was little." People can remember taste. Also, I chose the 10 year mark because food has really gone down in quality and taste in that tie, but it has slowly gotten worse since before then.

Niggers, feminists and faggots knew their place and largely kept to themselves. The cities were cleaner and safer. You could easily afford to buy a decent used car with the earnings from a simple summer job. People were far less stressed and more at ease with each other, and hung out in person more. Females weren't ego obsessed lemmings, they still had the desire to be loyal wives and mothers in their hearts. It wasn't perfect, but compared to today, of course it was better- a lot better. Nah, we played hardcore back then as kids. BB gun fights, lawn darts, iron horse shoes, and fireworks wars.
We were the reason for warning labels.

I had the all black version of that hat IIRC. I didn't care about baseball, but I liked that hat. I forgot it at the barber shop one day, and when I went back, he asked if it was my hat. I said no even though it probably was.

Yes, but many people were assholes even back then and you had to take that into account while leading your daily life. The biggest assholes of the 80s were the nouveau riche showoff types, though God knows they were much better than the parade of malevolent freaks we have to put up with today

It did suck tho' having to save up your money until you could afford to hear particular music, rather than just streaming or pirating it online the way we do now

I had the F-14! It was awesome. When I got older, I used a soldering iron to burn holes in it to look like damage. I think one of my mom's bowling friends kids had the carrier. Never used my F-14 on it to the best of my memory.

At the back of your mind you were convinced that the world could end at any time through nuclear annihilation. The US and USSR had a policy of Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD).
Then the USSR collapsed in 1989 and the nuclear threat disappeared.
Now it's being brought back because nostalgia.
>>
>>472774486
I think it was. My second cousin (cousin's kid) is mowing my lawn for me. He recently had a friend commit suicide and is still reeling from it. I told him it was easier when I was a kid because we didn't have cellphones or even internet really so our problems didn't follow us everywhere. Problems at school, like bullies, stayed at school. Now it's all over social media or they phone stalk you. Even status stuff, you didn't really see how rich some other kids were because they have limited outlets to brag about it. I don't know how kids today cope, honestly.

I liked 2000s the most. The early internet, but without the normies from smartphones was fun. But yeah, 80s and 90s too were Nice.
There were a lot less niggers and shitskins everywhere.

Without a doubt.
That was in part due to socio-political innocence, but only a small part.
The subjective experience was definitely better.

2000s was definitely the best in terms of computers and the internet. You didn't have flash games in the 90s.
>>
>>472774486
>Was it really a better time?
Yes. I was born in '86 and all I remember from that period was watching the Ninja Turtles cartoon and wearing He-Man underwear. It's not much, but it was a better time nonetheless.
>>
>>472774486
The 80s was awesome because we had Megadeth and Guns n Roses instead of Taylor Stupid and Sound Cloud rap "music".

Thr 80s was the best year to be alive in Japan. My shitty English school was so flushed with cash back then they were hiring Samba dancers for summer festivals. Now if you spend $10 on an office calendar they go crazy because you just financially ruined the company.

Yes. My gf’s son is 10 and it’s sad how there are no masculine role models, everything is woke and literally gay. He has a classmate who says she is bi, I had a pet turtle I found in the woods at that age.

This. I'm from '82 and I remember the mid to late 80s. Sure Nintendo and all that was awesome but in retrospect the best thing about the 80s to me was just being a kid. Life was simple, I remember no worries.

I hung out there in my 20’s/30’s and also commuted to school there. Inner Harbor was over policed and totally safe. I DJ’d on the weekends in the city and never had any problems coming and going in areas that the tourists and urban pioneers moved to. I called them that bc as nice as Federal Hill was, I wasn’t about to live somewhere heroin addicts would eventually rob or steal yet they’d always say “it’s an up and coming area!” Picrel circa 2004

I liked it. We used to sit on the porch and try to guess what color of car would pass by next. Of course, once television was invented we pretty much stopped doing that.

>rather than just streaming or pirating it online the way we do now
We just recorded it off the radio and made mix tapes. Everyone was a pirate back then.
Possibly the biggest difference is that the world wasn't run by batshit-crazy Karens. Though many of those cute girls in 1980s schools grew up to be those batshit-crazy Karens.

Fucking Boomers.

Actually yes. Women weren't total whores yet although the seed had already been firmly planted in the 1960s. The economy was a lot easier to deal with since there wasn't much globalization yet or mass illegal immigration.
>>
>>472779175
>The 90's were better,
Meh, it depends on what you're talking about. The 90s was the beginning of people trying to be "alt" or whatever. This is when piercings and tattoos really went mainstream. Also hipsterism took off about then too. It wasn't huge then and took another 10 years to really take off, but it was there.

When I was a kid in the 80s, I drank Coke and Dr. Pepper. I mean that's all I drank if I was thirsty. No water ever. Ew. Anyway, I remember looking at the ingredients on the can and the second ingredient after carbonated water was high fructose corn syrup. So it was in soft drinks back then at least. I also remember thinking that since it has fructose like fruit, it must be nutritious.

they're all beef. this has happened to some other foods though.

Fast food definitely tasted better. Possibly because it was still cooked in animal fat instead of the faggy shit they use today.
Or maybe it was the preservatives and sugar.

There were some good tunes, but most 80s music was vapid shit.
Of course most modern music is vapid shit so it was probably no better or worse than today. The big benefit of the 2020s is that anyone who makes music can sell it online so we're not stuck trying to find the few good tunes in all the vapid shit that Jews are pushing.
