How the fuck did this happen?

Report, hide, then carry on.

both sides are lacking in hardened aircraft parking

and it's not due to laziness. making a hardened bunker requires detailed engineering and good construction materials and workers. plus they aren't cheap, they're a few million dollars each
>>
wasnt that a while ago? or did it happen again?

krauts lost a lot more from shooting their own down and other retardations.
krauts are more retarded than slavs.

>>472901638
It has happened a few times over the course of the war but this incident happened a few days ago.

That's fine, but the airframes are literally irreplaceable. I'd wager that the strategy has been to shuttle them around as much as possible, only this time the dice came up snake eyes.

That's what I would guess too, perhaps also trying to stay in external allied airfields as much as possible but I'm unsure how often that's allowed to happen. Must be hell having to jump from airfield to airfield unsure if the one you left or the one you're heading for is currently being targeted
>>
>>472901643
In fairness, an M55S and a bone stock T55 aren't at all comparable. Still funny to see

both lost to goat herders and dirt farmers armed only with rusty AKs and Enfields..
But its more embarrassing for the worlds 1st army to have lost when the Talichads were doing it all alone, not with CIA help..

An M-55S isn't at all the same thing as a completely unmodernized T-54, which is what Russia is using. But you knew that.

>"muh M-55S and T-54 da same..."
*AHEM*
The original 100 mm tank gun was replaced by the NATO-standard 105 mm L7 with a thermal sleeve. The armor protection of the tank was improved considerably by attaching Rafael ERA blocks to the hull and the turret. A digital ballistic computer was installed in order to improve the fire control system (FCS). The gunner has the Fotona SGS-55 two-axis stabilized day-and-night sight with an integral laser rangefinder. In addition to the integral optic sight, the commander has the Fotona COMTOS-55 sight with independent line-of-sight stabilization, which allows him to acquire targets and lay the gun independently if required. The driver has the Fotona CODRIS combined day/night observation periscope. The LIRD-1A laser illumination warning receiver was mated with front-mounted IS-6 smoke grenade launchers (of which there are six in two clusters, one per side of the turret) and can be automatically activated in an emergency. Modernization of the V-12 diesel engine resulted in an increase in power from 520 hp to 600 hp. The running gear has rubber side skirts and the tank was outfitted with new rubber and metal tracks. Improvements were also made to the communications aids.

US defeated the taliban, as for Vietnam, it was backed both by USSR and China.
>>
>>472901651
You realize the US was already 99% out of Afghan, after negotiating the withdraw with the Afghan government before the Taliban came out of hiding right?
You realize the Taliban had a 0% chance of ever defeating the US military right?
You realize the Taliban suffered worse than 20:1 losses against the US military right?

I actually find kinda funny his pic, most dead during that war were what we may call the trad and the brown, but I guess he doesn't want to discuss about that.

This is a win for Ukraine. Dated Su-27s are just as likely to fall out of the sky and kill the limited stock of pilots as they are to do damage to the enemy.

Why are you talking about the Afghan war (an insurgency) on a Ukraine war (conventional war) thread?
>>
>>472901659
>and who ran away
Are you unable to read? What part of the US was already out of the country before the Taliban crawled out of their holes did you not understand?
>leaving billions in equipment behind
US didn't leave anything behind. The "billions" in equipment was the Afgan militaries equipment given to them by the US.
>>
>>472901643
Using T-55 is a case of making do in defense of a young slavic nation with limited resources. It is however fucking pathetic when fielded by a bipolar superpower in a self-proclaimed full-scale war against all of NATO and the collective west.

For someone on the offensive the taliban seemed particularly careful about not attacking US assets, I wonder why? Also, I wonder, why don't they attack any US assets nowadays?
