Why?
Rebellions or upraising's are generally good for societies and native plebs as they progress their status and rights while containing the ruling classes wild ideas (i.e immigration). Now that we have "democracies" and no rebellions, the elite have grown more brazen and powerful than even the kings of the past.
The next rebellion in the west is going to come from the immigrants rather than natives.
What happened to us, too much sports ball, too big of SUVs, too much porn?

Rebellions are fake and gay. You trade corrupt assholes for other corrupt assholes.

It is a commonplace that the history of civilisation is largely the history of weapons. In particular, the connection between the discovery of gunpowder and the overthrow of feudalism by the bourgeoisie has been pointed out over and over again. And though I have no doubt exceptions can be brought forward, I think the following rule would be found generally true: that ages in which the dominant weapon is expensive or difficult to make will tend to be ages of despotism, whereas when the dominant weapon is cheap and simple, the common people have a chance. Thus, for example, tanks, battleships and bombing planes are inherently tyrannical weapons, while rifles, muskets, long-bows and hand-grenades are inherently democratic weapons. A complex weapon makes the strong stronger, while a simple weapon – so long as there is no answer to it – gives claws to the weak.

I agree some can be fake and gay, the Carnation Revolution in Portugal was just a veneer of changing military faces at the top. But largely ones were helpful at least. The French revolutions helped the peasant class, Even the Ottoman revolt improved turks such as they are.

Interesting. Most western establishments and institutions are geared to contain us.
I sometimes wonder is fear of the unknown/change their biggest weapon against us?

Pensions, mortgages, and a vast expansion in the proportion of people employed by the state.

If the serfs could do it why can't we?

Most rebellions fail and are dismissed as historical footnotes. Industrialization played a single destabalizing card on the table. Also didn't the French have one in the 50s?

Rebellion is a bullshit term the elite feed you to think you can change anything.
There has never been a rebellion.
It's always two or more government fighting each other using NPC pawns.

Do you not count colonies?

Since the proliferation of
A) The rifle
B) Electricity infrastructure that urban society would be instantly crippled without

It has been the single aim of every government to prevent those two elements from being combined while also increasing tyranny every decade.
