I'd use the knowledge I brought with me to first get rich and then push aside the Fujiwaras and take control I'd continue to create new technologies while turning Japan into a night-watchman state bristling with a nigh-invincible technologically superior defensive capability.Why Japan? It's a defensible island chain with a high-IQ native population. It’s already happened. It’s why in the movie 12 Monkeys they were completely unconcerned with trying to change the fact that a virus outbreak happened, they were only trying to get a sample of the virus in the past to synthesize a cure in the present. The only benefit time travel would have is if you wanted to witness historical events first hand.
