many people who comment on the Ukraine war seem to miss an important factor - the human factor
if Ukraine by some sheer magical abilities would have even the slightest chance of retaking the red territories on picrel and returning to 1991 borders - this by itself could transform into a political crisis for Ukraine of such proportions, that it could destroy the country even without Russian shenanigans.

You need to understand that Ukraine is not only a territory, it is also populated by people - who since 2014, and more so after 2022, have become extremely spiteful of each other. Ukraine retaking red zones on the map would result in mass ethnic cleansing, and in a conflict similar to the Israeli-Gaza conflict that would last for decades, if not centuries.
Clearly Russia won't allow this to happen under any circumstances, but even if it would allow it, Ukraine would be fucked either way.

It won't happen, they died enough already, it will happen in 20 to 40 years, when their birthrates recover

Not really. I used to live there. Before the Crimea invasion and Donbas conflict, maybe. But the main people in the East who hated the people in the West were elderly boomers from the USSR days. Everyone else just hates having their family bombed by Russia. I know people from the Donbas who now hate Russia for that reason.

Kinda but not the whole story. If it makes you feel better, we would have intervened in Lithuania if something similar would have happened.

You are implying anyone cares. Khokhols don't care about each other. As long as they are personally safe, they'll be shilling for war till 91 borders. That's why the polls show that it's boomers, bitches and scum abroad who are in favor of harsher mobilization and continuation of war. They won't get snatched by zogbots and sent into trenches.
And certainly kikes in power and hypocritical westoids don't care about dead khokhols.

The Westerners' intent was always to mass murder the Easterners, that's why Russia invaded before preparation. At the time of the invasion, Kiev was massively bombarding Donbas.
