Why is Abruzzo considered Southern Italy when it's area was apart of the Holy Roman Empire?
>>
It's time to abandon italy

Southern Italy is where public transportation doesn't work, driving a car is life threatening, people sleep half of the day and the food is good. Therefore Abruzzo is Southern Italy.

Have you heard of the Mezzogiorno?
It's the line that divides Italy into Norf and Souf.

i'm guessing the historical southern border of the Papal states has something to do with it? i don't actually know this

>Abruzzo's northernmost point is higher north than Lazio's

You may be correct. It's something I never learned the details about, either. I just always heard about it from conversation and reading.

Meet the locals and find out for yourself when they try to sell you your sun glasses they just stole - with a smile.

It was not part of HRE. The 'region' north of it is called Marche (Marks) for a reason: it was the southern border of the HRE.
nb4 Frederik II. Who cares, kingdom of Sicily was in personal union with HRE only during his lifetime.

My grandmother is from here. She called it abrootsi. Her father, my great grandfather, left the family to move back and married a 20 year old when he was already in his 50s.

Either way it sounds like a shit hole.

Abruzzo Is actually a sort of whitopia. It's at the same level of replacement Lombardy was probably in the 1950s. Its population has little to nothing to do with Neapolitans both in looks and behaviour (something to do in terms of language maybe). It could become a Tuscany 2.0 if it wasn't covered with horrific 1960-70s middle eastern style modernist buildings; another achievement of this dystopic 'it*ly'.

There are plenty of maps that show the Abruzzo region was in the HRE

>i'm guessing the historical southern border of the Papal states has something to do with it?
Correct. The papal state borders are what limited the kingdom of naples' expansion northward, and terronia is geographically the same entity.

>It was not part of HRE.
It was for like 200 years. F2 is actually the reason why the regioon left the hre, since he never legally subsumed his southern kingdom under his northern empire, and when he inherited the duchy of spoleto he put it under the kingdom of naples (therefore abandoning hre claims on the region).

Reminder that Southern Italy was occupied by the Germanic Vandals for nearly 3 centuries before muslims immigrated to it fairly recently.

>terronia
Kek...if I had a Lira for every time I was called that...I'd have enough for an espresso.
Fuckin worthless Lira...

Only a clueless ameritard can consider Abruzzo to be southern Italy
>>
>>475740664
That term doesn't mean shit, it's a meaningless buzz word
>>
>>475743416
Your own government considers it southern
>>
>>475743568
Terrone means something, at least in the North.
