A proportional voting system would allow much more parties to be relevant. Instead of the current, winner takes all system that basically enables just two parties to exist. Two parties aren't representative of most Americans, and most would prefer to vote for a party that better aligns with them political. Not all, but many countries in Europe have a proportional system, and there are some downsides to them system, though, not nearly as many as the current winner takes all system.I've never voted in my life because I have no choice. There's just Republicans and Democrats that are very similar and differ in dressings, and it's not even a real choice. And neither of these parties represent my interests.Even a proportional system allowed Hitler to become chancellor in Germany. And I know Hitler complained of the proportional system, but if Germany didn't have that system at the time he would have never became chancellor.
i mean i'm not a big fan of omletes but if its cooked well, why not
That sounds interesting.
And, and by the way, to get a proportional system congress would basically have to do a constitional convention and get the states onboard with it.
We can reconsider it.
>>475743184Explain to a retard how congress isn't already a proportional component of the government. Is it because the only explicitly stated parties are Democrats Republicans and Independents?
>>475743184Intriguing.
OP you might be on to something.
It would solve the two party problem but you'd also get the coalition problem.
>>475744491No, it's not explicit. Any party or any individual could run for office. America has functionally a two party system, entirely due to winner takes all. Say that the Democratic party or Republican party splintered off into two parties. The other party that didn't split would have total power.
>>475743184Nidome jinsei is patrician, anon. Fuck China.
>>475744837The coalition problem is baked into a two party system. Republicans and Democrats are coalitions as well.
>>475745165Also, I just made a similar thread earlier, guess I was too serious for /pol/s taste though with no animu lust image for bait.>>475744810
>>475745852...and into the archive it goes. It's sad because there's no point in voting, when you let corporations and NGOs decide who becomes president. Yet no one wants to try fixing the process that got us here in the first place, obviously OP and I see it. I'm convinced this place is mostly bots now, have another bump anyway OP.

>>475745338>Republicans and Democrats are coalitions as wellI suppose I'm assuming too much then. I don't really know the ins and outs of the American system.>>475745852If your thread doesn't start with an anime image it's not worth it.
