Does the presence of Catholics in America's elite play a role in the support for Ukraine? As I understand, the Euromaidan was largely a movement of the fanatically pro-NATO Catholic minority in Western Ukraine, working together with the local and international Jews, to overthrow the popularly elected government that was supported by the Orthodox/atheist majority in Ukraine. Also keep in mind that according to polls taken as late as the early 2010s, most Ukrainians had a positive view of Putin and Russia and a negative view of NATO, the exceptions were in the heavily Catholic areas of the west where those views were reversed. If you look at the election results from 2012, the stronghold of Svoboda (the Ukrainian "Nazi" party that spearheaded Maidan) was in the heavily Catholic oblasts of Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk and nearly all the party's leaders were Catholics, as was Stepan Bandera. So the whole pro-NATO movement in Ukraine was basically Jews and Catholics forcing themselves on the Orthodox Russophile majority, is that why the US supports them so strongly?
