do people actually use bitcoin and other cryptos as a currency to buy stuff? or are they just investing into it
>>
>>488430935
They just buy it and shill it to boomers and zoomers to offload their bags at higher prices
>>
>>488430935
Pretty sure drug market is still big with it. Also great for laundering money.
>>
>>488430935
Crypto is just jewish number magic
>>
>>488430935
some stores sell in it, you can buy 4chin pass in btc
in salvador the integration is furthest along but the general idea of BTC vs other currencies is more of a long term currency.

it currently occupies the same niche as people who hold gold to protect from inflation. as bitcoin has a fixed limited supply
>>
>>488430935

I wonder how a skyrocketing price affects actually having a means of exchange in El Salvador. Seems dumb to spend money when it’s worth more the next day.
>>
>>488431477
There's also a finite supply of cryptos that are completely worthless. People also have to buy into the ponzi scheme ans believe in it. One day the music will stop and bitcoin = 0.
>>
>use gold for trade
>too cumbersome to move
>layer 2 gold (paper money)
>everyone just uses the layer 2
>Eventually drop gold

>use BTC to trade
>too high gas fees to actually use, especially when mining ends
>layer 2 BTC
>everyone just used the layer 2
>...
>>
>>488431923
This seems inevitable as there’s an infinite supply of crypto with a finite supply. Bitcoin being the first mover doesn’t hold the infinite economic weight that bag holders push. Thats literally its only unique selling proposition right now that isn’t selling hype and brand utilization. An ecosystem is worth something (think Apple or Android) but it’s folly to base an economy on this.

massively, salvador is topping the search volume for bitcoin for weeks now.
that being said their government bought at the last cycle top which put them under for a few years now. i guess now that its a new cycle salvadorans are starting tog et interested.

>>488431923
btc is unique, same as you can make up your own dollar tommorow it wont be an authentic usd and no one will sell you anything for it.

i expect over the next 20 years it will mostly replace the USD in most of it's uses. companies are already holding it instead of USD on their balance sheets to reduce inflation exposure and blackrock is recommending it as a hedge against other assets going down in value.

It's an asset you accumulate and use for leverage to buy other assets. It's like getting a reverse mortgage on your house except bitcoin isn't a house so when they take it away your basically just having a line of credit cut.

The big problem with crypto is that the government doesn't recognize it as official currency. You can't pay their thugs off with it.
>>
>>488434863
governments, pension funds are holding a lot of it and they cant exactly panic sell. microstrategy keeps buying it and now trump's strategic bitcoin reserve will buy a ton.

if anything BTC volatility is going down not up it's becoming more stable every cycle.

this cycle i think it will go 150k-250k in 2025 and then go down to sub 70k in 2026 until the 2028 halving cycle. if you're smart load up on BTC in 2026-2027

Yeah , basically tulips bubble.
What the jew is saying is also bullshit. You can open code base in hex editor, replace some 0-oes with 1 and get yourself a lot more bitcoins.
>>
>>488436744
This also leads to bitcoin collapse. Let's say they are right and it goes up in value forever and replaces money, you generate the worst recession ever because it becomes the rational thing to do to just buy bitcoin and nothing else since its making you rich. Spending would stop, people sell some bitcoin or trade it for goods and services and it starts to fall.

I'm guessing it goes up in the good times and crashes in the bad. It would need to be a pretty bad recession. So buying bitcoin is a gamble that you can predict recession maybe?

>Spending would stop, people sell some bitcoin or trade it for goods and services and it starts to fall.
Nope, but capitalism would break as holding cash might have a safer return/risk analysis than investing
>>
>>488437443
If everyone did nothing but buy bitcoin there would be a recession. No one would be buying anything and no one would need to work since they are all "getting rich".
>>
>>488436082
The banks and the jews run some bots to make sure the bitcion and other shitty cryptos look like they all have value (crazy value) and trading volume. Most of it is a fraud.
Bitcoin is somewhat unique as it was created by the feds as a ledger that is public and likely easily trackable by the called feds.
However, the same feds can use it to launder money and for gray / dark operations.

So. The value isn't that there's an inherent value, like in gold and silver. It's just a massive tulips bubble that is a testing ground for banks own CBDCs, central bank digital currencies.

recessions and economic collapses are manufactured to siphon the wealth from the middle class. bitcoin can’t replace money because the people who control the money won’t allow it. they can always buy all the bitcoin to control the price the same as they are doing with housing. people don’t understand market caps. they don’t understand that there isn’t 1.7 trillion dollars backing bitcoin. when elon musk bought twitter, he used tesla stock as collateral to borrow money rather than selling stock to buy it because selling would collapse the price. there’s already enough bitcoin in the hands of financial institutions to raise or lower the price as much as they want whenever they want, and midwit investors will always buy high and sell low. it is just another way to control the everyman’s money. the few success stories are always paraded as the norm but the reality is most people lose money, because it has to be that way. financial assets like crypto are parasitic in nature. they create no value, they exist only to siphon wealth from investors.

>actually use bitcoin and other cryptos as a currency to buy stuff
No.
They do not.

No one on planet Earth goes to a major chain grocery store and purchases a cart full of goods from there using cryptocurrency.
No one goes to a corner convenience store and purchases a pack of cigarettes, using crypto currency.

Although the original intent of btc when created, was to offer an alternative currency denomination to the world's major debt note fiat currencies issued by central banks, after several years of its/their introduction nothing changed.

Cryotocurrencies by the mid-2010s became nothing more than another speculative instrument market (with a relatively small overall market cap compared to other assets, and within it dominated by 'whales', or the biggest major holders/early adopters of crypto) within post-1970s Financialization of the global economy overall.
As regards individual citizen non-institutional crypto mkt participants/investors, it's attractive for its 'sound money' notion as "alternative" to debt note fiat currency denominations. That's who falls for/buys into it

'muh Crypto' in 2024 has absolutely nothing to do with being an actual transactable currency unit/denomination that would serve as bulwark against central bank debt note fiat currencies----as was its original 2009 intent----and is solely a niche speculative instrument market for people and institiutions with the illusory fictive notion that they are participating in an "alternative" currency, when the crypto market is now nothing more that a gigantic casino like all of the post-1970s Finanialized global economy.

It can go up as much as other currencies go down. If the dollar suddenly lost 99% of its value, the dollar price of bitcoin would obviously go up. Previously its reached higher highs during increasingly lower interest rates. This time is the first when rates are higher than last time, meaning anyone buying on leverage is taking a larger risk. This time genuinely is different but exactly what that means is impossible to know since this is a completely wild and almost entirely unregulated asset that bought and sold 24/7 both on and off official exchanges with every imaginable kind of investor involves.

BTC is a hedge against inflation currencies and powercreep, like the Dollar.
Passive uncirculating fiat reemerges at unpredictable intervals, which helps obscure the true inflation.
BTC is fixed and takes into consideration the passive storage ahead of loan and bond values, meaning greedy utilizers of the BTC medium can be frozen out or rugpulled by all other participants.
It's like a public powergrid where the whole point is to steal voltage when needed, and spike voltage from your own source when you want them to sell on your saved up green candle.
It works because it is counter intuitive.

Calculating Space (German: Rechnender Raum) is Konrad Zuse's 1969 book on automata theory. He proposed that all processes in the universe are computational.[2] This view is known today as the simulation hypothesis, digital philosophy, digital physics or pancomputationalism.[3] Zuse proposed that the universe is being computed by some sort of cellular automaton or other discrete computing machinery,[2]

The Z3 was a German electromechanical computer designed by Konrad Zuse in 1938, and completed in 1941. It was the world's first working programmable, fully automatic digital computer.[3]
Thanks to this machine and its predecessors, Konrad Zuse has often been suggested as the inventor of the computer.[14][15][16][17]

The value of bitcoin is the network. A whole bunch of people and resources support the btc network.

That's the definition of value: it's just a mass consensus backed with resources. The NBA is more valuable than the WNBA because more people care about it and aee willing to put their wealth into supporting it, even though they're both pro basketball leagues, the NBA has the stronger network, which validates its value.

i have some personally but i think for the next 10-20 years taking BTC instead is just an IQ test. if you have enough patience for a BTC cycle of 4 years you can reliably outperform any other asset class.

literally just close your eyes, dont even look at the bitcoin price. buy it a year before halving and sell it a year after halving and you will outperform any stock and bond that 90%+ of people are investing in. when the diminishing returns flattern halving cycles too much in 10-20 years just buy it and hold

Kek, once the limit is reached the market is going to implode when everyone realizes it's fucking nothing and there's no more of it coming ever again. You can't eat it, you can't live on it, you can't produce anything from it, you can't hang it in your house, it's just nothing. Primarily investing. You can kinda spend Bitcoin, but that usually consists of buying gift cards or just using PayPal. This is all because jews subverted it a decade ago and made sure nobody would ever raise the blocksize allowing it to scale.

If it weren't for Jewish subversion Bitcoin would still have instant near free transactions. Now it's basically just an investment vehicle.

Bitcoin is centrally controlled. They need to keep the price per coin high so it never gains traction as a currency. Block rewards are insanely high and transaction fees are high too to be daily use.

THE POINT OF HIGH BTC PRICES IS TO KEEP IT FROM BEING USED AS A CURRENCY!

I think it does outclass every other asset in pure appreciation, but I don't have enough faith the party will continue unmitigated or indefinitely. The practical consumer adoption isn't wide enough. The vast majority of people have skin in the game of Bitcoin only because their ultimate objective is buying stocks, gold, property, et cetera with their profit. There is nothing wrong with this approach, except that it ignores that almost everyone else is doing the same thing. When the Fomo crashes the panic sets in very hard for the normies. Most just don't have the tech savviness to use Bitcoin for anything practical without getting scammed.

Bitcoin has value because people believe that it has value.
Sure, you could start your own shitcoin that behaves the exact same way as bitcoin does, but it will probably never reach the same level of value that bitcoin has because nobody will want it or accept it as currency when the original bitcoin still exists.
The biggest advantage of cryptocurrency is that it's outside the control of central banks. World governments can't really control the price of crypto like they can with fiat currency. Every unit of money printed by a central bank increases the value of crypto.

silver squeeze was shilling people to buy silver for profit. /setf/ are just people thinking they are more important than they are. silver is the last great investment opportunity of our generations in this fiat currency cycle, but it doesn’t end the fed. the fed can always print more money to cover the short squeeze losses.

IMHO Bitcoin is in the "Herbalife Point", of products, a point where the products have no strength to hold themselves up in market except as bait for MLMs and speculative bubbles, but still has enough niche utility to keep enough old users from bailing out.
As it stands, out of its niche uses, being a good value reserve against inflation is the most notorious of them, and the current halving is going to correct its value back to "gold standard"-levels that gold and silver currently enjoy.
"buy some and forget about it" is my advice for you, if you want to have a 3% safe haven asset

>though don't ACTUALLY forget about it, you can't retrieve any of it if you forget the keys.

Scenario 1:

Bitcoin is a vehicle for techno feudalism to take society over. The tech bros already bought their seat at the table with Bitcoin.

All that is necessary now is to inflate the dollar out of control and watch as Bitcoin becomes the default asset because it's fucking accessible to everyone across the world.

Scenario 2:

Bitcoin is a vehicle to defund the richest companies in the world. Inflate the US dollar, and pigeon hole societies richest.

AI or the race to quantum computation solutions begins to claim the computational juggernaut that is Satoshi's wallet.

This is all a plot by the CIA to re-establish America has a global super power.

Doesnt bitcoin need more and more computer power to work over the years?
Also arent transaction fees really high?
Also do you really think in a crisis people wouldnt sell all their bitcoin to buy actual real stuff?
I actually dont really understand bitcoin but from what I see its independant from banks, governments etc. Sounds good, but if you lose your bitcoin who is going to help you? Would bankers and payment corporations really give up that power. Im sceptic. Please counter my arguments since I am retarded and would like to understand better the bitcoin fuss.

You will pay for a service like a bank to safely store your Bitcoin and they will become custodial.

Except now because it's super hard to cybersecurity we better charge you for storing your money.

Naturally enriching anyone who dares become a custodial Bitcoin storage company.

---

Flip the computer power question on its head. Forget about needing more, think about what Countries would need to do to meet the necessary power requirements of their grids.

---

Store in Bitcoin, transact in other currencies like Litecoin, Ethereum, Polygon, Cosmos, etc.

You think that's crazy. Think of the most absurd thing that could happen in the next 4 years.

I've got one for ya, they make DOGE the national reserve currency for the US.

Absurdity is the entertainment of the gods.
