>Is that the biggest corruption scheme in history, or was there bigger?
Well yeah there was bigger but this was an obvious cash grab. We aren't even any more ready for a war, all the Government subcontractors making multi million dollar weapons stock went up, and they have expressed no interest in providing low cost mass produced weapon systems.

You might think all the excess women but those will go to Israeli brothels

What a disappointment. That money could have gone a lot further if it went to Israel instead.

No, it's a reality check of how giving a pile of retards advanced weaponry doesn't make them successful in battle.
What they succeeded in doing was selling most of it to terrorists to line their pockets.

With that money we could have ended homelessness, supplied narcan to every opiod addict, upgraded american infrastructure, built that wall, or any number of other useful things.

When you invest, you want a return on investment. This 182 billion dollars is a loss. A total write off that provided no value to us. Maybe if Ukraine was winning the war right away, then you could justify the expense but they lost. They continue to lose. They are losers. We're entering 'sunk cost fallacy' territory. Spending more money on a bad investment isn't going to turn this thing around. Accept that you wasted money and stop wasting money. Cut it out.

A safer Europe. But what did we get from the billions more we've sent Israel?
>>
Since 2004 the US has spent approximately $16.6 trillion dollars on defence. Let's be generous and assume that 25% of that was directed at countering and containing Russia and its military capabilities. With the other 75% being directed towards China, Global Terror and other threats.

That's about 4.4 trillion dollars spent on countering Russian geostrategy. This is just since 2004 mind you, not counting the immense, incalculable cost of the Cold War. 182 billion is 1.1% of total 20 year US defence spending. And with that they have done more to debilitate Russian military capabilities in real terms than ALL previous spending and projects combined. In terms of economic tradeoff of dollars spent for depletion of enemy capabilities it's a no-brainer. It has probably been the most cost-effective anti-Russian strategy since Afghanistan.

>>488685564
now do israel.
what did you get for that investment?
182 billion to kill a bunch of russians with no dead yanks? chump change.

I don't know. I think this calculation only works if America was planning to capitalise on the situation by invading Russia or something.
If this war ends and nothing major happens for a decade then Russia will be able to rearm and replenish their numbers. Plus now they have the experience of fighting against modern US arms, which is invaluable for tactical and strategic thinking going forward.
You also have to weigh any negatives of this situation and subtract them from the positives before you can decide if it was worth all that money. It seems like Russia is going to achieve its objective of keeping Ukraine out of Western military influence, and may ever make some territorial gains. And America looks pretty weak right now. They half arsed their support of Ukraine, and it was revealed that on the US homefront there is little support for defending Europe. This is a massive soft power blow to the US that will have ramifications for decades following any peace achieved in Ukraine.
So it seems to me that overall they lost more than they gained before you even factor in the price tag. The US should have conducted better diplomacy to avoid a conflict in the first place. Yeah that would have meant leaving the Ukranians in the orbit of the Russians which sucks for them, but from an American perspective they could have saved a hundred billion dollars and some face too and ended up in a comparable position when all was said and done.
>>
>>488692789
and what did we get from this.... A stronger Russia, a weaker US dollar and a China that now acts as a economic, political, scientific and military rival because America exhausted all its capital on these "containment" attempts.

You get a job in the Military Industrial Complex if you are lucky.
Your ruling class are the one making bank.
It's the middle class subsidizing the ruling class.
