I’ll wager that there are thousands of things in your house right now that are made in China that you don’t know about.
Even stuff made in the US, there’s substantial amount of industrial machinery that is most likely sourced from China that is impossible to make locally.
>inb4 CCP shill
I want us to become less reliant on China but imposing tariffs alone ain’t gonna do shit. It took China almost 40 years to get where they are today. A 4 year term with slightly increased tariffs won’t do anything.
The best bet is a comprehensive re-industrialization plan with trillions in infrastructure upgrades and logistics optimizations along with well-planned industrial zones being developed.
All I’ve heard is
>muh tariffs and tax cuts good MAGA
>>
>>488966911

huh?
Tariffs aren't inflationary, they're deflationary. More money stays in the system.
>>

Ya it is as easy as that sweaty. Thats why there's thousands of dying towns in America. Your country is the size of Rhode Island faggot. But the industrialization and build up of critical infrastucture (the only valid point you made) is coming. Along with the war

i dont pay tariffs
big corpos who outsource to other countries pay tariffs
yeah prices will go up domestically, but so will wages

i will never understand why LEFTIES argue in favor of exploiting foreign labor, shitting on human rights, worker rights or work safety standards on the way. All just to get slightly lower prices on goods and for big corps to make tons of money. fuck them
>>
>>488972883
And when more American goods are purchased because demand for American goods has increased, their pay increases along with it.

This is by far preferable to their plan - raising the minimum wage - which only accelerates outsourcing and increases unemployment.
>>
>>488966911
The point was to force people to buy crappily made American products instead of paying out the ass for higher quality product

Don't buy Gucci. But Aeropostale
>>
>>488972931
At a time where cars were far more simple a cheaper to produce while the demand for semiconductors was nowhere near what we have today. And with semiconductors, it didn’t take long before the US outsourced their production to lower income countries. And let me ask you, what was the last year where all US cars were made in the US?

>higher quality product
LMAO LOL keep huffing that crack hermanos
>>
>raise prices so high that nobody can afford anything anymore
>go out of business because you make no profits
genius
>>
>>488973776
Its not cheaper if its destroying your economy and you're reduced to importing immigrants and housing bubbles to keep the economy going. I would rather pay 1 american to do a days work than 5 mexicans
>>
>>488973776
And there's two issues

American demand more resources and products is greater than what it can actually provide itself.

Things are just going to get more expensive because of a scarcity while a country like Mexico or Nigeria are going to become richer because of trade deals with China
>>
>>488973640
Bro you’re too fucking idealistic. Supply chains alone, a topic you cheeky underdeveloped kiwi brain cannot comprehend, is too complicated to be made as competitive as it is in China. We’ve heard talks after talks about rebuilding US infrastructure and yet we continuously hear stories of bridges collapsing or rail road expansion stagnating.
It’s not as easy as “giving money back to the community”. First the industry needs to actually be competitive. Next you need a large enough labor pool to produce enough to accommodate all the demand in the US, and the challenge here is finding people willing to work industrial jobs.
>>
>>488973952
yeah nah you have no fucking idea what you’re talking about, straya.
>>
>>488974200
oh yeah its too hard I guess the jews win after all
>>
>>488974196
Resources are the biggest constraint. Before it was no problem because all we needed was steel and some coal, something the US is abundant in.
Now we need all kinds of minerals to produce EV batteries. There’s a reason why countries want to set up battery assembly factories in cobalt-rich Indonesia and not the US. It just makes so much more sense.
>>
>>488974300
You realise that the highway system was built in America using tax money to create jobs right? Same as the autobahn, probably the same in your fuckhole country no one cares about. Close the borders throw out the beaners and the jews problem solved. Also no one even knows where your country is on a map stop trying to be relevant
>>
>>488974200
>...and the challenge here is finding people willing to work industrial jobs.
True, because they don't pay well for the risk involved which is why all that labor went to poor countries decades ago. Seems maga-brains want simple answers when the problem is really the momentum of large systems.
>>
>>488967069
No because Trump printed more money than any other president ever, and PPP loans + the shit response to COVID were a big part of that inflation, the Ukrainian war which Biden didn't start (he even removed the sanctions.)
>>
>>488974433
Don’t worry, there may always be a chance where a comprehensive re-industrialization plan is drafted. But it will be very unpopular on both sides of the political spectrum
>l00fties: das bad! You are eroding investments in turd world nations! also why are we funding corporate interests with our taxes?
>r00ighties: you want ME to pay taxes to fund infrastructure used by niggers and spics, along with the pipedreams of jewish billionaires?
>>
>>488974672
Do you know how expensive it is to build a railroad comparable to the Chinese ones in the US today? Railroads serve as the backbone of industries by the way. Atleast Europe got a pretty comprehensive network but it was not really built with industry in mind.
>>
>>488966911
Now lets talk about corporate taxes!
>>
>>488974200
thats assuming the US economy is incapable of serving itself, which is retarded
if you need to endlessly import because your total consumption is higher than production you either need to sell large quantities of raw resources or slowly bleed out wealth. either way is a disastrous economic strategy long term

the current way of western economies is taking large amounts of debt to pay for bloated budgets. debt leads to spending, leads to balooning asset prices when investors buy land to avoid being affected by inflation. combine with large amounts of immigration suppressing wages (this is their strategy to keep inflation reduced), you're squeezing the poor dry. I will NEVER understand anyone justifying this to their base. modern "social democrats" are shamelessly selling their base to big business

something needs to give, we're bound for eventual economic collapse like argentina if we keep going. something has to give.
tariffs like that will hurt short-term, but if it ends up working and bringing supply lines home, it'll end up worth it
not to mention the economic disaster waiting to happen if china decides to invade taiwan and uses their economic leverage on america to force concessions (threatening to send the economy into shock anyway, but at even larger cost)
>>
>>488975138
That would be one aspect Trump could look at. Lefties fucking love rail and Americas stock is pretty old. Theres ways that the economy can be stimulated. Good idea

>Do you know how expensive it is to build a railroad comparable to the Chinese ones in the US today?

Still far cheaper than paying long haul truckers and jets to do the work. Have you ever seen the ton cost per mile transported on a cargo train? Any losses incurred would be recouped in a short period of time.
>>
>>488976152
bro what is scaling
And no, it’s not necessarily cheaper. Supply chains. Do you think everything that has ever been made is assembled in just one factory?
>>
>>488974200
>stories of bridges collapsing
The bridges are falling apart rapidly because under Obama they more than doubled the weight limit of trucking cargo without considering the road damage this would cause.
>>
>>488974200
>Next you need a large enough labor pool to produce enough to accommodate all the demand in the US, and the challenge here is finding people willing to work industrial jobs.
Yeah, turns out people aren't going to choose these jobs when McDonald's pays more and is lower risk.
>>
>>488976312
What are you even talking about? Railroad scales far better than trucking. Semi-trucks have to compete with commuters for space and they can't haul an array of goods miles long. They are very limited in how much they can carry while still being able to stop in a reasonable amount of time to deal with traffic.

A semi-truck can carry maybe 40 tons per driver. A train can carry 125 tons per car... and it can haul 100 of them. Which is more "scalable."?

Won't happen, and here's why?

China's entire economy is dependent on Americans buying their trash. If they rise prices, then it allows other countries like India to compete, including small business in America who won't have to pay tariffs

So China only had 2 choices and 1 of these choices will be offered by Trump

A) They need to start scaling to keep up with the tariffs(won't happen) or
B) They accept the energy contract from Trump to off set the tarrifs. And what this means is that Trump is going open up the ND oil fields again...the Pipeline...and he's gonna drill baby drill natural gas in PA and then he the going to go to China make them an offer they can't refuse.

Either China Signs up on a 50 year contract to buy US energy and a reduce price or they can pay the tariffs and rise prices which will eventually screw their people and will revolt.

Needless to say the CCP is fucked as are US liberals because this 50 year contract will bring millions of energy producing jobs and if the dems play their stupid games they're going to win stupid prices in the form of a non-existent party.

It's already in the works. Why in the fuck do you think trump former press sec is in Arkansas mining lithium and Elon moved to east Texas just hours from the mines
