Here's the map for 1952. In 2024 two states were entirely red but in '52 it was five states. Further a number of urban areas like LA, Chicago, San Francisco, and Philly were carried by Eisenhower that would be totally off-limits to a Republican in modern times. You may also be amused at New England, Maryland, and Oregon being almost totally red back then.
