Why does OP only post once, and tirelessly repost reddit threads?

this is normal in every generation
you realize toys and gadgets aren't worth much
and true value is in being needed, even if only by your dogs

I'm referencing pop culture.
Par for the course.
Point still stands.
GenX is a lost generation.
>>
>>488980070
hasn't not giving a fuck always been the essence of GenX?
We grew up hopelessly outnumbered by self centered boomers, so apathy became a survival trait.

Someone needs to introduce this mad lad to Uncle Ted.

I’m a year older than the guy quoted in OP, and I feel the same way.

But we did care, Boomer Boy’s teen angst movies notwithstanding. There was a lot of optimism in the 80s because we’d come out of the economic mess of the late 70s and things were improving. Computers were getting better by the damned day and making huge differences in businesses. BBSs came along to expand our horizons, and then the internet in the early 90s. And we could see the possibilities of that, how it could revolutionize everything. Racism was on the decline in the 80s and 90s. So was violent crime.
And instead of that future we ended up in this Orwellian hellhole.

Optimism in the '80s? Are you nucking futs? Thanks to MAD and the Cold War, 40 minutes from any given moment, we could all be dead. I remember living in existential dread the entire time.

Things felt normal because people were typically the same.
There was no trannies, no LGBT pride in general, people had a common identity.
The disconnect is the left's fault. They've rebelled against society and question why society hates them.
