>Has anyone ever been killed by a coil gun?
i don't think so, the commercially available Arcflash Labs EMG-01 only produced a muzzle velocity of up to 45 m/s and that's a well optimized gauss gun, it's bigger brother the GR-1 and EMG-02 only does velocities up to 75m/s. The EMG-01 only delivers about 5 joules. the reason i reference the EMG-01, is it's quite likely based on the reverse engineering i did on the nip's gauss gun, it too about delivers 5 joules. This is all extremely non-lethal velocities. You'd need about 50-100x more power for lethality or to be similar to a pistol/firearm.

The Arcflash Labs GR-1 is capable of accelerating any ferromagnetic projectile (under 1/2″ in diameter) to 200+ fps, and can deliver up to 75 ft-lbs of muzzle energy (dependent on ammunition). Which is still not lethal, and the GR-1 is probably one of the best gauss guns ever developed.

absolute cringe
commie tier solution to arrest the guy
portable induction guns are unable to create the necessary velocities to projectiles in order to be considered anything more than a toy
its funny he build it but this does not warrant arrest
a mix of system coping because they are unable to regulate and propaganda to deter
the system would have to regulate basic tools
there is that vice documentary about the industry in thailand or vietnam where they build 1:1 replcias of american guns with metal files and crude tools in the middle of the jungle
the cia gave translated plans to the taliban during the time of the occupation of the soviets that described building ak47 from scratch with basically iron age tools and machines made from wood and rope
they would need to regulate this too
the only way to regulate this is to control the market and make it availiable for anyone interested so that they are not forced into illegally getting unregistered stuff
its common sense logic
same logic as with weed

you're welcome. yeah
(Simple) Exotic material choice like Iron-cobalt alloys with saturation up to ~2.35 Tesla. Amorphous metals aka soft magnetic materials with high permeability and high saturation limits or nanocrystalline alloys that have high saturation and low losses.
(Simple) Saturation occurs when the magnetic flux density exceeds the material’s capacity. Increasing the core's cross-sectional area reduces flux density (B=Φ/A). Larger cores can handle more flux before reaching saturation, though this increases size and weight.
(Ideal) You can eliminate reliance on ferromagnetic materials entirely by using air cores or other non-magnetic materials. While this reduces inductance and requires more energy to produce equivalent fields, it completely avoids saturation.
(Simple) You can utilize tapered or non-uniform cores to distribute flux density more evenly and prevent localized saturation. Use laminated cores to reduce eddy currents and heating, which can exacerbate saturation effects.
(Advanced) Some materials exhibit better saturation properties at higher frequencies. High-frequency switching can help reduce the size of magnetic components and mitigate the effects of saturation in dynamic systems.
(Complex) Apply a DC bias field to counteract part of the alternating field's flux swing, effectively "pre-loading" the core to operate in a linear portion of its hysteresis curve. This technique is common in applications like audio transformers.
(Extremely complicated) Use multiple parallel magnetic circuits to split the flux, reducing the burden on any single material or core. This spreads the flux over several paths, lowering the effective flux density per path.
(Scifi shit ) You can use superconducting electromagnets, which can generate extremely high magnetic fields without concern for resistive losses. This approach eliminates reliance on ferromagnetic cores but requires cryogenic systems. room temp superconductors needed.

bullshit
injustice dealt at the hand of the government for "advertisement" reasons

Jap courts always side with the cops even when the judge know the guy is completly innocent (a fact jap judges admit without any problem) because doing otherwise should bring shame on the national police.
