>A college professor admitted that he's seeing it happen to some of his former students who did extremely well but are having a hard time finding work. In a LinkedIn post, James O'Brien, a professor of computer science at UC Berkeley, insisted that it's become a bleak reality for many college graduates because even though they have their degrees, a job isn't coming as easily as it should.
Oh so it's only "some" students. And it's compsci which has been oversaturated for about a decade.

4.0 gpa in what field of study? Also if you want to go to college the best bet is to get a job at a university and go for free. Generally though what use do I have for some rando with a bachelors? A bachelors taught using techniques that were phased out in the industry years ago

No. GPA is more of a reflection on the teacher than the student.

GPA is a totally falsifiable metric on the skills of a student.
GPA doesnt show if you cheated, took shortcuts, previously knew the material, had extra privileges when it came to handing in work late, had the professor's nonstop help.
Its a farce.
College is for meeting people, not learning. If you are actually stuck inside studying all day you picked the wrong major because all your peers who are "stupid" "party animals" could actually be used as tree branches to swing to a higher position.
Ds get degrees (unless your class requires Cs to pass). There is no such thing as work hard play hard, a lot of people completely skip the work hard part.

College diplomas are literally worth less than toilet paper. This isn't 1924.

Amerimutt universities are plummeting in world rankings. Their decline is only slower than it should be because of the fake and gay ESG scores.

This guy gets it.

except the D's get degrees part since you need a 2.5 GPA in your major to graduate with that major.

For me it was 50/50
I did jack shit in university. No parties, no friends, and bare minimum studying. I scraped by with shit tier grades and graduated.
My lack of connections or good grades shut me out of immediately going to grad school, so I did entry level work in my field. After a couple of years of good performance, I had decent employment.
Then, at 26, I saved enough to drop on a Master's (piss easy 100% online program) which considered professional experience over bachelor GPA for admission. 18 months later, six figure doors started opening for me just because of this additional credential.

Over those years I learned the importance of connections. I've job hopped to huge pay raises thanks to people I've met through work. Even though I'm doing quite well now, I'd be doing much better if I had started doing this back in university.
