After the Reconquista the Iberians (and later the whole Europe) colonized the entire world, led the industrial revolution, were the main forces of the two world wars, and are currently past their peak but still live in better conditions than 98% of the world, meanwhile the arabs only went downhill from there, and the only thing they can brag about currently is about how they were once superior to Europe 1500 years ago during the Islamic golden age and that they're replacing the whites in white countries (which is not even true since indians are doing that faster)
They used to be much less fanatic about their faith, their current situation is ironically an anomaly

The Moors were the last intellectual hold outs in the Muslim world. Even before Baghdad was sacked by Mongols they were in an intellectual decline. Iberia and Northern Moracco had a separate caliphate who ignored the dumbest religious scholars. The Spanish and Portuguese got a hold a book called "The Incoherence of Incoherence" a rebuttal to the "Incoherence of Philosophers". It took centuries of a copy of the book it was rebutting to find that the whole book was dumb. Incoherence of Philosophers survived the destruction of the Baghdad library and increased in popularity. Incoherence of Incoherence was a lot more popular with Christian schollars who later had most of the copies.But even the cancer spread to Iberia and the Moors fought with each other. And that is why Reconquista happened.
