The problem is there are not enough jobs to go around, that pay decently enough, relative to the amount of people that exist; it gets even worse when our government keeps letting half the fucking world in to add to that stress. Situations like large numbers of people dropping out of society and losing motivation don't just fall from the fucking sky, and no one wants to accept that fact nor look at what has lead to this, because it would then mean a lot of very wealthy, predatory people's gravy trains being derailed.

All my coworkers (I'm 32) are "the older generation". All they do is complain about how shit everything has become and I'm happy to take them at their word concerning that. Evidently things weren't quite as shit when they started working and there was a reason to think that getting to work punctually and putting in 100% with occasional voluntary overtime was something worthwhile.
