If each of these phage guys can produce 100 new phages, why isn't the entire world covered by layers and layers and layers of phages?
>>
>>489053722
It is

>>489053898
>>
>>489053722
Naw, 'cause the phage phages phage the phages.
>>
>>489053898
>>489053969
I just looked around my room and I couldn't see a single one.
>>
>>489054046
Unironically this. A better question is why not engineer more beneficial ones for people?
>>
We call them fagi here and I think it's funny.
>>
What if just one of these fags decide to attack human cells?
>>
>>489053722

>phage goo

Don´t be silly. These are not exactly life-eater grade ...
>>
Because human killer t cell is the biggest badass of unicell lifeforms and will kill all.
>>489054088
Lick it and inform us in a few days
>>
>>489053722
>why isn't the entire world covered by layers and layers and layers of phages?
Thank God there aren't enough Canadians in the world.
>>
Imagine having one chance at life - one chance to experience and understand the universe - and you're born as a fucking autonomous glob of RNA.
>>
>>489053722
>Yo dawg... I heard you like phages
>>
>>489054426
you could say the same thing about niggers and pajeets
>>
>>489054329

... and if that fails we still have NKs. One the assassin, the other the berserker. Let us better not talk about those fat fucks with the vore fetish however.
>>
>>489054561
Said it before I could
>>
>>489053722
Unironically it is. Phages are believed to kill 40 percent of all the bacteria in the oceans every day.
>These plentiful viruses could have a profound impact on their environment, especially in water. According to estimates put forth by Suttle, phages destroy up to 40 percent of the bacteria in Earth’s oceans each day. In doing so, bacteriophages may influence the oceans’, and perhaps the entire world’s food supply by limiting the volume of bacteria available for other organisms to eat.
>>489054198
It would be extremely painful. In all seriousness you can DYOR and most sources just say not to worry because they physically can only target bacteria but there are bacteria in the human body that they go after all the time. The question is if they doubled in number, would they kill every bacteria in a person's body even the kind needed for digestion? Personally that's another reason why I find it disturbing how artificial they look for an allegedly natural entity. Don't want the glowies or the MIC to genetically engineer hostile phages.
>>489054088
They're in your walls. Under your skin, too. Rip them out. Tear them out. Set them free.
>>
>>489054198
Your immune system has cells that as individuals are the Doomslayer of everything microscopic and the pussy ass bacteriophages have evolved to attack other microorganisms that are more of a soft target. Human pathogens are evolutionary flukes in the grand scene of things.
>>
>>489053722
Because not only is their reproduction rate exponentially, their mortality rate, livespan, dying, is: too.
You thought mother nature is a stupid cunt am I right?
>>
redpill me on phages.
>>
>>489055973
schizo word on the street is that they were made by "the engineers" when they terraformed earth to be more bio-compatible for bigger lifeforms, essentially nano-bots to keep bacteria in check and at a perpetual low percentage of the planet's bioload.

PHAGE LIFE

Our biology did absorb so many pathogens that we are now half pathogen ourselves. Oh and our neurons try to eat each other, constantly. All pretty fun stuff!
>>
>>489056429

Shh. Now go outside and be fruitful and multiply or something ... there, have some candy.
>>
>>489056638
that shit movie was just another way to leak some info to the public mixed in with a bunch of nonsense. just like stargate and or encounter of the third kind.
>>
>>489056849
ok.
i'll be quiet now. i got some work to do anyways.
>>
>>489057005

Silly joke, I know. Gotta say here that biology should be presented in a less dry fashion at schools. Taxidermy can look silly but is not of particular fun ... but there´s lotsa cool freak shit going on when it comes to nature, should be emphasized more.

Source? Sounds omoshiroii

Nothing will top Enaic's depictions of Angel. The rest of the art made by mankind can go.
>>
>>489053722
None of those phages can produce anything. Viruses must use hosts to replicate.
>>
>>489054198
They would nerve do that. The phage-blood cell treaty is ironclad.
>>
Go to any city there’s phags everywhere
>>
>>489058448
That cool and all but do you by any chance worship some dead jew nailed to a stick?
>>
>>489059674
Like...jews
>>
how do they replicate? what do they eat? so many mysteries
>>
>>489059087

It is a bit absurdist, alright.

>>489059385

It is a repurposing of the eating mechanism of an amoeba. Receptor shuttling, excretion of neurotransmitters ... now think this is simply an amoeba stretching out a pseudopod to secrete digestive factors and then devour the debris of its "prey". This is why tetanus paralyzes receptor shuttling and neurotransmitter transport with its toxin ... it gives the bacteria no damn advantage to do so with humans or animals, but it would protect it from being eaten by a hungry amoeba.
