Trump and Biden made behind closed doors deal that Biden will eacalate situation in Ukraine so that Trump will have better negotiative position when settling Russo-Ukrainian war, Ukraine's negotiative position would be too shitty if US didn't do some posturing in the lead up to the negotiations. I guess US gave up on winning completely but they want to look good when it ends and not ave another Afganistan style humiliation.
