Bit of advice for any anons that have to deal with these harpies during the interview process: Make small talk, be more personable, even if you've gotta force it. I've heard so many stories from my wife about her candidates and potential hires being rejected because they "only" answered the interviewer's questions satisfactorily and asked relevant follow-up questions. Meanwhile, there's a girl that got hired whose answer to the infamous "where do you see yourself in X months/years" question was, "I don't know, but I know that in 3 days I'll be seeing myself getting railed by two guys."
I've literally lost out on job opportunities on the basis of my personality. My current employer is an exception; they appreciate my unwillingness to compromise. After all, the planes can't fall from the sky.
