How are people not freaking out about hyperinflation? I went to the store and I bought groceries for just me and it was around 150 bucks. I don’t eat a lot here. How are people making it?
>>
Prices are getting stupid, but at the same time most people have no idea how to budget anything.

Yeah you have control over the price of food.
if you didn't have to pay so much rent you could buy more shit.

If land was cheaper rent would be cheaper.

Bill Gates buys all the land.
There is your choice? You wanna suck his dick.
Or take his money?

The problem has to be with how stupid people are at this point, and a total lack of self-discipline.
>>
>>489080446
I don't get this. groceries are free in the self checkout line. are people really too lazy to use the self checkout line?

I eat better than 18th century European aristocractly for about $150/week.

People in the US complaining about food prices are going to starve before their pets if the economy collapsed. Pork, rice, beans, potatoes, carrots, vegetables in season a person can eat delicious and nutritious home cooked meals for $50/week but they are too stupid to cook.
>>
>>489080446
People in this country are retarded and getting dumber by the day. Most probably can't even define what the word "inflation" means, have no idea how Money Supply works, or how the most basic of Monetary Policy from the Federal Reserve works. Most people are hooked on credit card debt for the same retarded reasons too.

The average American shouldn't have to budget or go hungry. So much for the richest country on Earth I suppose.

They're starting hire security to check receipts at regular grocery stores near me now. Not just at Costco. Loss is costing more than paying a jeet to check your receipt.

I guy a shit ton of eggs and the cheapest meat I can find. It's like 20 bucks for 60 eggs at walmart. I eat about 8 or 10 eggs a day, split into 2 meals with lots of pan fried meat. It's the first thing I do when I wake up and when I return from worm. Costs me about $75 a week depending on the meat.

I am always satisfied. I'm a big tall guy and I haven't lost a pound on this diet versus my old goyslop habits. At first I was discouraged by that but my body has changed without shrinking. I credit eggs and meat with an improvement in my libido to my assertiveness/willingness to exhibit measured aggression.
>>
>>489089094
4 years btw... averaging it at 9 eggs a day, I can estimate that I've consumed ust over 13,000 eggs in this way for a total cost of about $4500 or $1100/yr spent on eggs.

If it wasn't for my fasting life style I'd be feeling that pinch, but prices are hurting me with other things. Practically everything is rising in price to some degree.

America has mainly been a union 3rd and 2nd world countries formed together under a trench coat that is the military industrial complex. Can't really call what we have "wealth" it's all concentrated within the hands of a few.

That's what we say when we go shopping for basics, I subsidize a lot of our food with things we raise ourselves, but I can't imagine how anyone else can afford anything but basic carbs and sugar goyslop.

I don't know. I know how to budget. I buy almost the same exact stuff every week. I don't impulse buy. I eat out once a week. I WFH a couple days a week so my fuel costs stays low. I buy almost everything on credit card and pay it off every month so it is easy to track expenses.

I have looked back over the past 5 years and seen huge a huge increase in my spending while I've continued to cut back or eliminate the few things I liked doing.

My biggest increases were rent, electricity, and groceries. The next biggest increases were things like internet, fuel, insurance (all), and other utilities like water.

Lastly, I noticed the same places we'd go for lunch are $3-$5 more expensive than 4 years ago. The occasional trip to the liquor store or pizza shop is at least $5 more. That may not seem like much but it adds up. I was saving close to $800 a month to use as a down payment for a house. Now I'm saving around $300. No change in life, cut out most my hobbies, and that's with pay raise from work. So my quality of life is worse, have less money, it is worth less, and it sounds like expenditures are going to go up again.

I've been stealing since covid. If they remove self checkout I will just walk to the store and walk back out without paying. If anyone notices they won't have my plates and I'll just walk back home.

I get $1200/month on ebt since I quit my job, I’m eating better than when I was employed. Steak and eggs for breakfast, pork chops, if I want something I just get it now.

Lets be real. Inflation came from trump covid era federal spending. The problem is if the democrats linked inflation to government spending there is a serouis issue philosophically for them so they just rolled over and took the blame.
>>
>>489080446
Have you tried not being poor?
>>
Inflation is going to get much, much worse next year. "Fiscally responsible" conservatives guarantee a huge spike in money supply.
>>
>>489091764
Its going to get better next year before it gets really bad. Energy prices coming down will offer a euphoric short lived price decrease across the board for food

Decreased energy costs are never passed along to customers. They simply become higher profit margins.
>>
>>489091364
I saw it this way. Trump blew billions of dollars on things like covid loans and stimulus checks to try and buy votes. Started this massive inflation we have now.

The democrats spent a few thousand bucks on some ballots and won the election. That's when I realized the democrats were way smarter than Trump. They just failed to do anything productive the past 4 years.
>>
>I spent $150 on groceries
If you would have spent $50 on groceries, then you only would have spent $50 on groceries.
>>
>>489092315
Not true...never accurate. Depends on your marketshare position. If my ketchup is at 17% and your ketchup is at 63%. Ill cut my price to move mine up. Thats capitalism. As long as there are many ketchup makers competing over the same pool of customers...price wars should commence for marketshare dominance. The one who doesnt cut prices loses his share of the business
>>
"People" do what the media says. The media says 'don't talk about groceries' and the "people" don't. They don't want to stick their neck out.

You're aware four corporations control about 60% of all food production and distribution in the US?

KraftHeinz is getting paid no matter what brand of ketchup you buy. They own almost all of them.
