Chinese tourists truly are a bizarre species. Many explanations by few answers, no solutions. They mock locals and do not accept hospitality, will just laugh at you to your face for no reason. It's not just the Chinese cultural behaviour, these are the most hated people in China as well, the Chinese boomer who got rich investing in phoney state monopoly businesses. The other wierd thing is that they're not actually part of the local tourism economy, they bring their own guides, set up their own businesses, the Chinese government has not actual let them out, they bring their own police. And they suffer a huge casualty rate from environmental hazards, bizarrely high. They just trip over and die, fall in a pond and die, start coughing and die. They have their own life cycle like some kind of crustacean.
Mao’s Cultural Revolution and anti-intellectualism regressed Chinese society to an embarrassing extent.
