Pull up a chair, throw another log on and damper 'er back down.Whatcha burnin'?Whatcha brewin'?How does it feel to see the snow fall outside and not be entirely dependent on systems and people who hate you?Disclaimer: this is a MAX COMFY thread. Enjoy the results of all that cutting and splitting and stacking and warm yourself with both the cozy burn and the seething of those who can't stop you.

>>489092813Homemade bread? Always looking for good recipes. I've been experimenting with cooking in the firebox after letting the coals mostly die back. I've made several cornbreads and a few sourdough loaves in a 6" cast iron with lid.The trick is to let the lid preheat right above the coals to get a more even bake.I want to try biscuits next
I'm burning Chinese cardboard and drinking high strength lager
>>489093591Lmao pizza boxes are great firestarter, the greasier the better. I hope they aren't Chinese lol. Almost makes me regret getting pizza almost never. Do you have pizza in Bongistan?
>>489093898i have a whole load of timber from an old building that got taken down, proper old stuff like 300+ year old timbers. So I've sawn it into nice sized chocks and they burn up lovely.Temperatures are below freezing outside, but not for me.
>>489093442Its homemade sourdough a girl in town makes for me
>>489091499>watcha burnin?a mix. some cedar, some oak, some arbutus. its still shoulder season here on vancouver island, so Im just burning scraps from my woodworking shop atm. dec, jan will see the real wood going in the fire, mostly alder this year. cut down some alder up in the back nine, got a half dozen chords of that. yeah i know it burns fast and leaves a lot of ash, but alder smells nice when it burns, and its what i got. if i go out to the cutblocks to get wood, i ussually get hemlock, spruce or doug fir, occassional maple.the arbutus us a real local treat. only grows around here. hard ot get. burns hotter then oak, and for longer. "exotic hardwood". but its a protected species, so its hard to find, and i try to save any straight pieces for woodworking projects. once again this year, i have a small stockpile of apple and cherry from my orchard. I will save that to burn over the holiday season. its such a pleasant fragrance.watcha brewin?just a cup of coffee for me friend. had pizza for dinner. t. blaze king 40, pedestal
