I'm having ketamine infusion done for chronic pain. I'm less interested in it curing my chronic pain and more curious as to what psychological effects it will have. It's still experimental. There aren't any large sample studies on it yet.

I was put on SSRIs in 8th grade, I was hospitalized in 11th grade right before COVID and they upped my dose, I had another depressive episode when I started college. About 2 years ago I went for a ketamine infusion therapy. I've had about 9 ever since then. I have not had a depressive episode or suicidal ideation since then. I was suicidal going into the therapy and my suicidal ideation was cured after the therapy. It's an absolutely incredible drug and wonderful experience that I think everyone should have. People who claim it helped with their depression might have not been depressed in the first place and just needed a downer to feel better for the moment. Elon for instance claims that ketamine helped him deal with a depressive episode, but then it'd be rare for an actually depressed person to do all that he's been doing.
