Are there any good duolingo alternatives? The POZ is finally too much for me. Until this week the gay shit has been limited to an eye roll cringe "my husband" with a dude talking every couple of months. Now it's something super gay every lesson.

I have learned to read foreign alphabets/syllabaries with it.I noticed the male and female characters saying things that shouldn't be said, which can be confusing. Just use Duolingo until you learn like 500-1000 words and play an online game in whatever language you're learning. It's how I learned Russian. Buy key caps and download the keyboard layout for the language and speak to people online. Speaking with natives > all apps

If you really want to learn Spanish, I suggest finding a decent book on grammar and also reading up on vocab. Also highly recommend finding a show/movies you like and watching them in Spanish w/ subtitles.
