RIP SOUTH KOREA
>>
>>489682888
Ahhhhhhhhhh Im about to cum!!!
Do RAM next!
>>
>>489682888
Nice, when are HDD going to be obsolete for mass storage?
>>
>>489682965
South Korea companies are getting out of DDR4 right now as Chinese DDR4 are 50% cheaper. China just started producing DDR5 too.

Soon we'll all have 1TB of ram for $50 off aliexpress, tariff will add $10 more bucks
>>
>>489682888
SSD's are already dirt cheap. GPUs on the other hand...
>>
>>489683045
>Nice, when are HDD going to be obsolete for mass storage?
Like 5 plus years ago.
>>
>SOUF KORE HAS BECOME TYEWON 2.(POINT) O (Oh)

Excellent. Time to raise tariffs.
>>
>>489682888
RAISE THE FUCKING TARIFFS NOW. LET THE AMERICANS SUFFER, FUCK YOU
>>
>>489682888
I used to work at a factory that made SSD-grade silicon wafers. It was an extremely complex and expensive process. Will be interesting to see if their SSD production process can ramp up as well
>>
>>489683109
this
>>
>>489683170
get back to me when SSD are less than $15/TB on 8TB+ drives
>>
>>489683109
yeeah boi got me a lil 4tb m2 by crucial for $140 a few months ago. seeing some of these 'cyber/blacek friday deal 'markdowns' are just lies, half the shit has been marked down for a while.

literally lol lmao

does anyone really think they can produce 11 nines pure silicon?

I don't. Where are they getting the high purity silica sand?
Only one real place in the world and it's in America and we haven't sold any real quantities to China for this to make any sense.

Uh there are no 8TB drives for less than $600
You can get a really nice WD Gold 24TB hard drive for less than that.
>>
>>489683970
Russia makes it too
>>
>>489682888
The US already has all of the infrastructure and capabilities to make this technology. The idea that it doesn't is fucking retarded. The electronics companies are holding out for as long as they possibly can until they receive highly beneficial government funding. They should be investigated for the damage they're causing to our country.
>>
>>489682888
It always take a decade or more from hearing the news to it becoming useful in reality...
>>
>>489683970
>Where are they getting the high purity silica sand?
It's not Sand, and they can refine the shit too, it's just more expensive. I'm sure they are not doing that though.
>>
>>489682888
Cant wait for all the murder suicides when this explodes in chinks pcs
>>
>>489684482
Chinese wafer is 90% cheaper
>>
>>489684682
lol, only if you use western silicon
>>
>>489682888
>storing your data on a Chinese drive
Does it count as "automatic cloud backup" if it sends copies of all your files to the Chinese government?
>>
Gonnna need China to start making cpus and gpus too so I can stop relying on overpriced western spyware that may or may not contain IDF explosives.
>>
>>489683970
For Czochralski method monocrystals, they use silicon carbide as source material.Which is relatively impure.
That silicon gets purified by trichlorosilane process.

It is not as much about capabilities, it is more about profitability. Silicon refinement are VERY energy intense process. If reinement has been done in are where energy costs are high, product will have problem to compete with ones where electricity are cheaper.
>>
>>489682965
Do GPUs

Yeah that's the thing you want to skimp on, electronics, from China. retards

Nigger have you seen the china EV shitshow?
These things just go up in blazes and set entire factories down killing everyone inside
>>
>>489684318
retard thinks companies are not trying to make crazy money simlly by pressing the on button.
>>
>>489687238
Chinese EVs are the best in the world
>>
>>489682888
Let's see what kind of yield, the chinks get off their wafers. They probably wash the chems off, with chicken blood.
>>
>>489687680
The only objective thing china is best at is making it look like a functional human made product, copying the appearance and cheaping out on everything else, thereby creating a cardboard piece of shit fake and gay economy that produces worse than trash then forces it down everyone's throat. China can't even make a iphone competitor
>>
>>489687480
Retard thinks that factory expansions just fall out of the sky and that spending your own money is better than spending somebody else's.
>>
>>489683512
Ur Mobo prolly cannet handle that size get wrecked lmao
>>
Not buying chink but hope they can force other SSD manufacturers to dump
>>
>>489683170
Then show me where to get a 20 TB SSD for under $500. This exists for HDD, therefore HDD is not obsolete for large storage that doesn't need to be all that fast.
>>
>>489687955
I'm swedish and could care less but you're obviously not a real human, only capable of regurgitating npc retard sentiment. If china can outcompete everyone and eventually new cars can be had for 5k then I'm all for it

>>
>>489683045
they'll stay around for cold storage but even for that there's something that will make HDDs extinct

>>489688131
HDD is already obsolete when compared to SSD. Good luck retrieving your files 10 years from now when that analog Mechanical writing arm needle thing finally scratches the magnetic disc thingy.

One of the former CEO’s of Western Digital who made it into one of the biggest players in tech was Chuck Missler, a Christian. Before passing away he drew many of the connections between the Holy Bible and trans humanism that are necessary in order to properly understand where we are headed to as a society.

Fine one of his talks regarding the subject matter in this video:
https://youtu.be/xkJe9re-8AI

He knew memory and processing power were bound to only get cheaper and cheaper. Now regarding Chinese ascending position on the global stage. He also knew and foretold this through his studies in the Word of God. If anyone would like for me to link to that video as well, let me know. They are known as the Kings of the East.

I will never buy mainland chink silicon. For the same reason I won't buy Intel.

16TB NAS drives are on sale for $250 right now. Not sure why people want SSDs so bad, the only drive that’s ever failed me in my life was an SSD.
Also, 99% of people only have 1gb home network and that doesn’t even saturate an HDD write. I had to upgrade to 2.5gb switches to get 280Mbs writes.
>>
>>489693100
SSDs don’t take forever to spin up when you want to open a random file (eg. movie server)
Less heat/need for fans
Literally only my HDDs have died on me (kicked one by accident while it was connected), while my cheapo SSD from 10 years ago that failed was still able to be backed up.

Yeah good luck selling your products into the US when they cost so much. haha. Stupid Americans will be forced to buy products from domestic producers instead of you guys.. Errr wait.. This is America First right? you stupid nigger you have no idea what's going on.
>>
>>489694401
My media streams fine from an HDD raid but I can also just move the movies to an SSD. I just have 8TB of data of my life because I’ve had digital cameras since 2002 and I got sick of having them on multiple 2tb drives and even if I felt like paying for a big SSD pool I don’t trust them.
>>
>>489682888
Just what we need. The hard drives that our Operating Systems run on to die after 2 months of usage.
Can't wait....
>>
>>489688839

ssds like quadrupled in price this year what are you talking about a fucking gay ass little 512GB SSD costs $50 again
