I apologize if this question has already been addressed; I'm new to 4chan. But I can’t help wondering: why doesn’t Ukraine simply relinquish its claims to Crimea and the eastern territories? Wouldn’t that bring an immediate end to the conflict?

These regions have consistently expressed their desire to align with Russia. Why, then, does Ukraine insist on retaining them? What does it hope to gain by holding onto areas that seem unwilling to remain part of the country?

A North Korean general was injured & several officers sent by Pyongyang to Kursk region were killed last week when Ukraine launched UK-supplied Storm Shadow missiles at a Russian command center, according to a Ukrainian official. Story w/ @IKoshiw

New: Besides Storm Shadow attack, Ukraine has launched “several” strikes targeting the North Koreans in Kursk region over the past week. Ukrainian forces are actively searching for more positions where the North Koreans are present.

New: Thousands of North Korean soldiers have now been deployed from staging grounds to Russia’s second line, freeing up more of Moscow’s own 50,000-strong force for combat with the Ukrainian troops, according to senior officials in Kyiv.

New: North Korea recently delivered 62 domestically-made 170mm M1989 self-propelled howitzers & 62 updated 240mm MLRS to Russia, according to Ukrainian intelligence shared with @FT. That's up from 50 and 20, respectively, when I reported it two weeks ago.

For many Russians, the exchange rate between the dollar and the ruble has long been regarded as a key indicator of their economy. This was true in the 1990s, the 2000s, and remains the case today. More broadly, the comparison between anything American and anything Russian has consistently been a focal point of discussion—a way for Russians to either validate or challenge their sense of national pride.

No. There were attempts for peace since 2014. And the russians with their almighty wisdom, waited for almost 10 years for the ukrabians to modernize mad tackle corruption. They lost their chance when Yanukovich fled and Poroshenko came in. Had they done otherwise this would've been like Kazakhstan a year or two back. Instead they only did a false flag on Crimea and then continued to fuck up royally.

Aren't they f*cking tired of Oreshnik? For a week now, it's either the bunker grandpa or his henchmen parroting the same stuff. They have nothing else left. The rate of their advance, despite colossal losses, is historically insignificant. The economy is in shambles, and it's obvious to everyone. They've always threatened with nuclear weapons, but so blatantly—only recently. This is very telling of their situation.

In Russia, the official confirmation has been given of the deaths of two people as a result of a strike by the Ukrainian Armed Forces using long-range missiles on the Kursk region.

The Investigative Committee claimed that on November 23, three missiles allegedly struck the village of Velyke Zhyrove, and the casualties were described as "civilians." Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that the strike targeted a Russian S-400 air defense missile division position near the village of Lotarivka.

The distance between Lotarivka and Velyke Zhyrove is approximately 30 km - a classic case of trying to lie but failing to coordinate the story.

Only sustained support for Ukraine and increased pressure on Russia—leaving it no room to adapt—can deprive the Russian Federation of its ability to terrorize Ukraine and continue this war.

Here in Ukraine, we need a lasting and reliable peace. Only through joint efforts and precision can we make this a reality.

Trump ordered the investigation by his legal team into Boris Epshteyn. The review claimed that Epshteyn had sought payment from two people, including Scott Bessent, whom Trump recently picked as his nominee for Treasury secretary.
https://x.com/JuliaDavisNews/status/1861443838184689715
https://www.nytimes.com/2024/11/25/us/politics/trump-boris-epshteyn-investigation.html

According to the review, Epshteyn met with Bessent in February, at a time when it was widely known that he was interested in the Treasury post, and proposed $30,000 to $40,000 a month to “promote” Bessent around Mar-a-Lago.

The second person cited in the review was a defense contractor from whom Epshteyn sought $100,000 a month during the transition period. The report said Epshteyn depicted his own hiring as “do or die” for the person’s prospects.

Carl Paladino, who ran for Congress in NY, complained that he was not sure exactly why he had paid Epshteyn $20,000 a month. He was not endorsed by Trump. “I was told that it would be in my interest if I sent money to this Boris... He was totally useless.”

Difference is, average monthly salary in Japan is 500000 yen. In Russia it's 50000 rubles or something like that. There is nothing wrong with low value of currency if salaries are to scale with stronger currencies and it's value doesn't start to drop in such extreme matter. Especially in times where markets are so intertwined that countries started specializing in certain areas of economy rather than making everything mediocre. AND in era where international trade is only way to acquire the most efficient methods of extracting and processing raw resources. Russia is having hard time acquiring state of the art extraction equipment, while being dependent on extraction as main source of income, they maybe can try to start coming up with domestic designs, but they are surely not going to be as efficient as what they had until now, which will damage their production capacity. They are fucked because everything except for raw foods is entirely dependant on international trade while whatever they offer can be easily replaced with other sources.

The point of a benchmark currency is to gauge the actual internal value of a currency irrespective of trade. You can tell if a currency is a good benchmark against another based on whether or not other major currencies are responding in a similar way. The Ruble is performing worse against the Dollar, Pound, Euro, Yuan, and Yen, indicating that its actual internal value is in decline.

In Taganrog, a drunken woman brought two beaten children to an alkomarket. One of the babies was already dead

The mother left the six-month-old twins in a carrier at the entrance to the store on the morning of November 24. The cameras caught the moment when one of them was picked up by a concerned man. He discovered that the baby was dead, to which he received the remark: “You're the one dead, faggot!”. After the incident, the woman went on drinking.

There is nothing to say about Nips, that's all. They got hit by post-kung flu recession as most of the countries on Earth and since then their currency is stable. Contrast it with Russia, which is cut out from majority of international market (or at least parts that actually have money) and seems to be running out of options how to hold down the price of their currency from going into the gutter. I do not need to cite anything as those news are posted in this very thread every single fucking day and unless you are a terminal naysayer these are facts, especially Russia lacking technological and industrial capabilities to patch up holes in their needs. But if everything fails, big strong VDV veterans will put straws into ground and blow out oil from under it, right?

>Ruble is going to the moon

Dropping by to explain how currency exchange works in Russia. The state has dozens of government owned export companies which can be used to regulate the exchange rate of the ruble. This technique was used at the beginning of the war and gradually the threshold to sell foreign exchange was dropped from 80% to 25%. The formula is complicated, but that's the gist, meaning there's a very wide range for intervention.

Proofs:

The United Kingdom has announced a new sanctions package, the most extensive ever imposed on Russia's "shadow fleet," which has transported billions of pounds worth of oil and oil products over the past year alone, the government's press service reported.

The sanctions are aimed at limiting "the Kremlin’s ability to fund illegal war in Ukraine and malign activity worldwide". The total number of oil tankers sanctioned by the UK is 73, more than any other nation. The list includes such tankers as Belgorod, Bratsk, Krasnoyarsk, Kemerovo, Kolomna, Antarktika and others.

AlfaStrakhovaniye and VSK, the insurance companies that serviced this fleet, were also sanctioned.

The British government emphasized that 46 countries and the EU supported the initiative against the "shadow fleet".

"Russia’s oil revenues are fuelling the fires of war and destruction in Ukraine. We will work with our G7 partners and beyond to exert relentless pressure on the Kremlin, disrupt the flow of money into its war chest, erode its military machine, and constrain its malign behaviour worldwide," Foreign Secretary, David Lammy said.

Well, it's all been happening for the past 3 years and ruble was fine. I think there is something else, something shady going on.
>>
>>489717370
Russian business has started to prepare for the ruble to further devalue to 120 rubles per dollar.

Since the beginning of November, the ruble has lost 7% against the yuan, the same amount against the dollar, and about 3% against the euro. The wave of devaluation hit the market after November 21, when the U.S. announced new sanctions against the Russian financial sector, blacklisting five dozen banks, including state-owned Gazprombank. The bank still retained access to the SWIFT system and euro-denominated transactions and remained one of the last major banks to provide the Russian economy with foreign currency inflows.

Meanwhile:

◾ China stopped accepting Gazprombank's UnionPay cards;
◾ Banks in Tajikistan stopped servicing UnionPay cards issued by Gazprombank;
◾ In Mongolia, Gazprombank's cards of the UnionPay payment system stopped working;
◾ Banks in UAE, Turkey, and Kazakhstan stopped servicing UnionPay cards.

Is this Putin's multipolar world?

Russians launched an air strike on Sumy. Two people were killed, and there may be one more person under the rubble.

According to preliminary information, a Russian multiple rocket launcher system was used for the strike. The only real defense against this is the destruction of Russian weapons and Russian launchers on Russian territory, President Zelenskyy emphasized.

"That's why the ability to strike Russian territory is so important to us. This is the only thing that can limit Russian terror and Russian ability to fight in general today," the President added.

The Russian Sukhoi Superjet 100 that ignited in Turkey over the weekend may soon be grounded permanently due to serious design flaws making its continued operation increasingly unsafe, Russian sources report. Repeated failures of critical systems like autopilot, hydraulics, and air conditioning have led to numerous incidents.

Rostech blames the “human factor”, but the near-fatal crashes have become too systemic to overlook:

▪In Antalya, a minor overload during landing caused the rear landing gear to puncture the fuel tanks, and the plane caught fire. Rostech says the pilot is at fault – allegedly, he did not account for wind during landing. But in fact, Russian Telegram channels report that there was a failure of the autopilot systems.

▪Last February, a plane rolled off the landing strip in Saransk, and only cold weather prevented another fire due to the puncture of fuel tanks.

▪In July, a repaired Superjet crashed shortly after takeoff due to incorrectly installed speed sensors, allegedly a worker’s mistake.

Despite years of development, the Superjet relies heavily on foreign components, and the rollout of a domestically produced version has been delayed until at least 2026. With safety risks mounting and maintenance costs soaring, Russian airlines are reportedly seeking to replace the Superjet with secondhand Western aircraft—cheaper, safer, and more reliable.

Officers of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine conducted an evacuation of 15 cats and kittens from Zmiinyi (Snake) Island.

This was done because "the approach of cold weather complicates the carefree life of numerous cats and kittens living on Zmiinyi Island."

The cats were taken to one of the largest animal shelters in Ukraine, Sirius.

There are clear signs that Russian economy is headed toward a collapse:

◾ Resources are being used to the maximum. This means they will be increasingly expensive for enterprises, and not everyone will be able to afford them.

◾ Prices are increasing, and the Russian Central Bank cannot stop them. Last week, according to Rosstat, inflation rose again: up to 0.37% (a week earlier, it was 0.30%). To slow down price growth, it is necessary either to stop economic growth and budget expenditures (infusions in the military-industrial complex, etc.) or put up with inflation rates above the target, the Russian Academy of Sciences said.

◾ Only certain industries are growing in Russia, primarily machinery. In other words, what the budget pays huge amounts of money for and what goes to be destroyed in Ukraine is on the rise. This means that the money poured into industry does not bring anything to the economy except for the figures that are pleasant to the ear of the authorities. But even this growth has already been exhausted, as next year, GDP will increase by only 0.5-1%, and the growth rates of investments and private consumption may go to zero.

◾ The International Monetary Fund predicts that the Russian economy will slow down threefold, from 3.9% growth this year to 1.3% next year. This is three and a half times less than in developed countries and 5-6 times less than in China or India.

◾ A total of 4,363 legal Russian entities were declared bankrupt in the first six months of 2024, which is 40% more than in the same period a year earlier. And this is with the declared economic growth of 4%. What will happen at the economic growth of 0.5%, as predicted by the Central Bank? Mass bankruptcies and the economy of the early 90s - lots of tanks, nothing to eat?

I recommend reading through. The overall picture is very telling.

‼ Bankruptcies, losses, and optimization of the largest and most important enterprises and banks are happening in Russia.

In 2025, Russians will face a new series of losses and bankruptcies. The reason is not only sanctions restrictions but also growing problems inside Russia.

◾ Rusal, one of the world's largest aluminum producers, announced the start of production optimization - it will be reduced by 250 thousand tons in the first stage. The company explained the decision of optimization by "record prices for raw materials and high risks of a continued negative macroeconomic environment."

◾ Major Russian mining and metals company Mechel announced the suspension of one of its enterprises - Olzherasskaya-Novaya mine in Mezhdurechensk. The reason is problems with the sales market.

◾ Major Russian corporation PJSC Gazprom made a record net loss of $6.1 billion in 2023, becoming Russia's most unprofitable company for the first time in 25 years.

◾ ALROSA (Russian group of diamond mining companies) reduced its revenue under Russian Accounting Standards (RAS) by 30% and net profit by 3 times in 9 months. The net loss amounted to 6.5 billion rubles ($62,7 million).

◾ Baltika brewing company is among the top ten most unprofitable companies in Russia in 2024. In 2022, the company's revenue was about 100 billion rubles ($965 million). In 2023, the net loss was 28.1 billion rubles ($271,1 million). The option of filling the budget by nationalizing profitable private enterprises has failed.

◾ PJSC KAMAZ's net loss for the first nine months of 2024 amounted to 3.8 billion rubles ($36,6 million) against a profit of 15.8 billion rubles ($152,4 million) for the same period last year, according to financial statements published on the company's website.

◾ AvtoVAZ automobile manufacturing company is talking about possible bankruptcy and debts of over 100 billion rubles ($965 million). This is due to the increase of the Russian key rate.

◾ Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin is going to classify data on Russian oil exports and the production volumes of Russian refineries ostensibly to protect Russia's national interests from "unfriendly actions" by the USA and other Western countries. In reality, it is to hide the crisis in this field.

◾ Sanctions were imposed on Gazprombank, the major bank, and fifty other banks. Sanctions were also imposed against the Russian System for Transfer of Financial Messages (SPFS, sort of Russian analog of the international SWIFT messaging system).
