What are /pol/'s thoughts on the phantom time hypothesis? The prospect of human history being mostly maligned forgeries angers you?

is /pol/ uninterested on historiography?
>>
out of all the flat earth, mud-flood, tartarian-tier conspiracies this is the one that gives me pause and i could at least see it possibly being true.

if you are intimidated by all OP's links, here is a shorter piece written by a sympathetic but semi-skeptical outsider that gives a QRD (or quicker than 20 blogposts, anyway)
https://www.unz.com/article/how-long-was-the-first-millenium/

i'm willing to bet the Jesuits had something to do with it and if the project started, it sure as hell started a lot earlier than the 1950s

i also am fairly sure that several significant historical figures were actually amalgamations/inventions, Alexander the Great and Constantine being two possibilities
>>
imma keep it a hunnid wit yall tho, this is one rabbit hole i probably won't journey too far down, just because once you get lost in this kind of sauce it is hard to find your way out

shit like this is a genuine memetic hazard where if you buy into it completely, it will alienate you from the rest of your friends and family to an extent that could be harmful and cause you to spiral

this is true of almost any "conspiracy"/forbidden truth but the hazards are amplified exponentially when dealing with stuff this far outside the mainstream. it becomes a feedback loop where studying makes you believe it, believing it alienates you, so you go deeper, which alienates you more, and so forth. similar with extreme political ideologies.
(healthy to remember that a lot of shit on the internet is fake and/or created by intelligence agencies/other bad actors to mislead truth seekers!)

i have found the two best antidotes to this kind of reality spiral to be:
a) a healthy sense of humor- being able to laugh at the absurd nature of yourself, the world, all ideas and ideologies, and most of all life/reality itself is 100% necessary if you are going to get into any kind of weird research

b) Robert Anton Wilson's "maybe logic" aka omnidirectional agnosticism. never ever believe almost anything wholeheartedly. because if you allow your belief systems/reality tunnels to crystallize and concretize, almost anything can turn on you, even your sensory inputs and basic foundations of reality, and that gets real scary real quick.

instead, view all ideas as possibilities or probabilities. for example i am 99.99999 repeating % sure that the sky is blue, my name is Cleefus Yorgle, and I am an American man, and that I was born and live in the Midwest. it is possible i am actually a brain in a jar in star system Zeta Reticuli, but that possibility is comparatively remote.

So, did the Jesuits steal a few centuries and make up a fake history to enslave the minds of the world? sure- maybe.

It's true.

Con-stantin-ople = Evers-tanding city = I-stan-bul

The two Romes probably started the historical fraud when they competed for supremacy before the schism.

>>492021323
how can you commit to anything with honor/duty with that mindset tho?

I read like five minutes into that and arched aisles were being made 500 years before they were seen in the Palentine chapel.
I guess this guy didn’t have the Internet to look the stuff up

You just posted a bunch of distractions that don't have anything to do with the fact that Jesus Christ defeated death and Satan.

yeah man, thx for the bump.

nah, the counterevidence from astronomical events being more or less synchronized with historical dates is pretty final
>>
>>492017448
Anatoly Formenko has theories on this as well.

I personally believe some major disaster happened much more recently, possibly as recently as 500 years ago, and no more than a thousand.
>>
>>492026857
The most famous sky phenomena of high antiquity (caesar's comet and jesus' eclipse) won't match any astronomical table. A third, a meteor rain registered as occurring the first month of Justinian's reign actually matches one that happened at the time of the severan dynasty...

faith?
i think it's important to keep a North Star or set of North Stars to stay oriented

one of mine is the morality I was raised with- Do No Harm, help the weak, serve others, etc. another is an unshakable and overriding belief in God, Creator, and a reverence for Life (and strong antipathy toward anything that destroys or degrades It)

in a world where everything shifts around constantly, i find it vital to have a few ontological rocks to hold on to.
