Ukrainian media report that Russia has deported some Ukrainian children from the temporarily occupied territories to North Korea. In the DPRK, the children were sent to military camps. This was stated by Kateryna Rashevska, an expert at the Regional Center for Human Rights, during hearings in the U.S. Senate.

The human rights advocate said that 165 military camps are known, where Ukrainian children are currently held and subjected to russification and militarization. The documented camps are located in the temporarily occupied territories, in Belarus, Russia, and North Korea.

The White House has renamed the Institute of Peace after Trump. His name appeared on the sign of the headquarters in the U.S. capital ahead of the ceremony for signing a peace agreement between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), which is set to take place on December 4.

Let’s hope he doesn’t mix up the countries this time.
So, when will there be a Trump-named state?

According to Der Spiegel, Macron warned Zelensky that the United States "may intervene in the issue of territories without providing security guarantees" and used the word "betrayal."

"Zelensky must be very careful in the coming days." "The United States has betrayed Ukraine and Europe" — these are the sentiments expressed by European leaders, according to the transcript of a phone call between the President of France, the German Chancellor, the President of Finland, the NATO Secretary General, and President Zelensky.

New at @derspiegel: We obtained the transcript of a conference call of top European leaders and Volodymyr Zelensky, warning of American dirty tricks to the end war.

Emmanuel Macron said there's a chance the U.S. will "betray" Ukraine on territory.

Friedrich Merz said: "They are playing games, both with you and with us."

Alexander Stubb said: "We mustn't leave Ukraine and Volodymyr alone with these guys," meaning Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. https://spiegel.de/politik/ukraine-verhandlungen-europaeer-misstrauen-trumps-friedensplan-a-7a439009-716d-48de-bda6-5d3926d8dbc3?giftToken=01602435-ad36-4179-a848-d18a49dd30d9

Good TZD morning.
I think the repo sandwich as seen in picrel* may be explained by the overall declining quality of Russia's bank loan portfolio. Longer-term secured credit is dangerous for the central bank if credit risk collapses. The central bank tried playing with that risk in 2024 to calm corporate bond markets but decided to leave the party at the start of this year as you can see and replace it with repos.
And the volume of emission from repos is climbing and isn't slowing down lately. We're nominally back at spring 2022 levels of emission however it's more like winter 2022 or spring 2023 levels of emission due to the ruble's cheapening.
I don't think it's possible to extrapolate a banking crisis from this liquidity crisis as it is still early. Some of this high-volume repo could have something to do with year-end books and tax payments and so on.

If this 2-3T+ weekly emission continues in the new year then it's a crystal clear sign of acute banking sector stress.

I remember back in the day (fuckin' hell that was more than 11 years ago) RU anons actually went all schizo and calculated his height based on some photos he did while inside a typical soviet school, since there were standardized elements there on the same plane as him and it was easy to measure pixels and proportionally calculate everything.

Overall I get the impression that there's no unified policy position from the US. It's not even the usual tension between government departments. It seems that there are multiple positions from the same government departments. Possibly from different people within those departments.

Pro-Ukraine, off the top of my head:
Rubio, Bessent, Kellogg, SACEUR, most of Congress (?)
Pro-ziggers:
Vance, Hegseth, Witkov, Kushner

Chancellor Merz:

"We have known Viktor Orbán’s position for years. This is also not his first trip to Moscow. He already travelled to Moscow once last July, immediately after taking over the EU Council presidency.

That visit back then was not only unsuccessful - a few days after it, there were some of the heaviest attacks by the Russian army, including against civilian infrastructure and civilian targets in Ukraine."

After yesterday's visit of PM Orbán to Russia, Russia once again launched an attack on Ukrainian civilians.

Great speech by European Parliament member Reinier van Lanschot @RLanschot (video from October 8):

"How many Russian drones did it take to shut down European skies? About five. How many drones are over Ukraine? About 500. Every night. If we face that, we're not prepared at all.

Putin exploits our weakness and depletes our air defense on his terms. We've let a war criminal drag us into a boxing match and made him the referee. But if we stop being afraid to act, we can respond on our terms."

Serbia today stands on the brink of an energy and political crisis.

The most acute problem has arisen around the company Naftna industrija Srbije (NIS), which controls the country’s only oil refinery in Pančevo. A controlling stake in NIS belongs to Russia’s Gazprom Neft and Gazprom, which has placed the company under sanctions imposed by the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). This triggered a chain reaction: banks began blocking the company’s payments, and the key oil supply route - the Adriatic Pipeline (Jadranski naftovod, JANAF) through Croatia - halted crude oil transit. As a result, Serbia's sole oil refinery is on the verge of a complete shutdown, posing the risk of shortages of gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel. The United States insists on the full withdrawal of Russian capital from NIS. The Serbian government, meanwhile, is scrambling for emergency solutions - measures that should have been taken earlier. Currently, there are reports that potential buyers who were once interested in acquiring NIS are no longer considering the purchase.

Vučić’s "multi-vector" policy in practice has amounted to an attempt to "sit on two chairs" - pursuing European and Euro-Atlantic integration to receive financial assistance from the European Union, while also maintaining ties with Russia. For example, Serbia has already received €111 million in pre-financing under the Growth Plan for 2025 and has signed additional packages/agreements worth around €591 million. However, Russia’s war against Ukraine has made the "either/or" choice unavoidable. As a result, Serbia has found itself squeezed: external pressure (U.S. and EU demands to end Russian energy dependence, and there are expectations that EU candidate states must align with all European sanctions against Russia) is now compounded by an internal political crisis.

>part 1
>>
>>522909565
>Serbia today stands on the brink of an energy and political crisis.

The actions of Serbia’s leadership show that they understood the risks but deliberately postponed preventive steps to avoid conflict with Russian owners. The Serbian president said that Serbia had the right of first refusal to buy out NIS four times since 2022 but did not exercise it because they "wanted to show respect to the Russian side." He also admitted that for nine months Serbia "did what the Russian side asked," whereas now sanctions and supply disruptions are putting the country at risk of a refinery shutdown in Pančevo.

Serbia is also critically dependent on Russian gas, receiving more than 80% of its imports from the Russian Federation. The main delivery route is the TurkStream pipeline and its extension, the Balkan Stream. Although Belgrade is taking steps toward diversification, the dependence remains deep. On the one hand, the Bulgaria–Serbia Interconnector (IBS) has been launched, opening access to Azerbaijani gas and LNG from terminals in Greece; new routes through North Macedonia are also being considered. On the other hand, "hooks" remain: the key gas storage facility, Banatski Dvor, is controlled by a joint venture with a Russian majority stake, and the transit capacity of the Balkan Stream is largely reserved for years ahead by related structures.

>part 2
>>
>>522909565
>Serbia today stands on the brink of an energy and political crisis.
>>522909598

The European Union’s plans to completely phase out Russian gas by 2028 create additional risks for Serbia if the government continues to postpone decisions. In the coming months, if Serbia fails to resolve the NIS issue, this will hit Serbian citizens: possible fuel shortages, price spikes, and more expensive imports. To mitigate the crisis, Vučić is asking OFAC to postpone or soften the sanctions regime. The government will likely build up reserves and increase imports, as well as seek alternative supplies through Hungary and MOL. But strategically, there is only one correct solution: to end Serbia’s dependence on Russian energy.

Russia has failed for the second time in a row to secure a seat on the council of the UN's International Maritime Organization.

"Based on the results of the vote, in which 169 of the 176 IMO members took part, the Russian Federation was not elected to the council. Our country received 87 votes - more than half of the countries that voted, which is seven votes more than in the previous elections in 2023," Russia said in a statement.

The London-based organization is responsible for regulating the safety and security of international shipping and preventing pollution. Russia applied to Category A, which is reserved for states with the greatest interest in providing international shipping services, but was the only candidate rejected among the 11 states.

Specialists from Ukraine’s State Emergency Service carried out a unique demining operation in Vyshhorod, Kyiv region.

During yesterday’s Russian attack on the city, one of the Russian drones hit the roof of an apartment building but, fortunately, did not explode. Left on the roof were the damaged drone itself, its warhead, and 21 submunitions. Another dangerous cluster munition was found in the building’s courtyard.

All of these explosive objects posed a critical threat to the residents, as cluster elements were equipped with self-destruct mechanisms and could have detonated at any moment.

To minimize the risks, operators of robotic systems and drones used a combination of drones and a multifunctional robot - including on the building’s rooftop. The robot carefully collected all the explosive items into a special container, which was then loaded into a pyrotechnic vehicle with the help of a crane.

All of the munitions were destroyed by a controlled explosion at a designated site.

Selling Russian oil means financing the killing of Ukrainians.

Under the laws and customs of war, tankers transporting Russian oil are a legitimate military target.

* 21 July 2023:
“The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine warns that starting from 00:00 on 21 July 2023, all vessels sailing in the Black Sea towards ports of the Russian Federation or Ukrainian seaports temporarily occupied by Russia may be considered by Ukraine as carrying military cargo, with all corresponding risks”.

This was Ukraine’s response to a similar statement issued by the Russian Federation. Since then, Russia has attacked Ukrainian ports dozens of times, damaging many ships and killing and injuring crew members and dockworkers.

* 28 November 2025:
Ukrainian naval drones struck two sanctioned tankers of Russia’s shadow fleet, KAIRO and VIRAT, in the Black Sea as they were heading for loading at the port of Novorossiysk.
The operation was carried out jointly by the 13th Main Directorate of the SBU’s military counterintelligence and the Ukrainian Navy.

Ukraine did not start this war. Every day our children, our civilians are being killed.
Russian oil is a source of funding for an aggressive war and a priority military target.

Russia attacked Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, and Kherson regions, injuring people.
Even on days when Russia doesn't launch massive attacks on Ukraine, it still continues attacking on a smaller scale, injuring and killing people, destroying homes and infrastructure, inflicting daily terror.

▪ Chernihiv region: Russian forces struck an energy facility, injuring two women. A 38-year-old woman in the Desna settlement hromada also sustained shrapnel wounds after a Russian drone completely destroyed a house and two cars.

▪ Mykolaiv: Russia launched Shahed drones at the city.

▪ Kherson region: A Russian attack injured 12 people, including a child. Russian forces targeted critical and social infrastructure, as well as residential areas across the region. Twelve apartment buildings and twenty private houses were damaged, along with a cell tower, an outbuilding, a gas pipeline, a trolleybus, private garages, a bus, and several cars.

In the morning, Russians struck Chornobaivka in Kherson region. The attack damaged residential homes, fires broke out. Two people were injured.

Power outages were recorded in Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Kherson regions as of this morning, the Energy Ministry reported. Due to equipment failure caused by earlier Russian drone strikes, some customers in Odesa region also remain without electricity.

Kaja Kallas:

It is clear that Russia does not want peace and therefore we need to make Ukraine as strong as possible in order to them to be ready to stand up for themselves in this very, very difficult time.

It could be a pivotal week for diplomacy. We heard yesterday that the talks in America were difficult but productive.

If there is going to be a pressure on Ukraine's army that hasn't invaded anybody, then there should also be pressure on Russian army and really the Russian army is the one that is actually a risk to everybody.

If Russia's army is big, if their military budget is as big as it is right now, they will want to use it again.

Head of a navigation service provider Oro navigacija called this a systematic attack on civil aviation.

Over 7,400 passengers and 50 flights were affected by the incident.

Earlier, Lithuanian airports have asked the Prosecutor General's office to start a pre-trial investigation.

While negotiations over a "peace plan" for Ukraine continue, China is turning Russia into its "resource rear" in case of a potential confrontation with the U.S. and the EU.

On November 25-26, at the 7th China-Russia Energy Business Forum in Beijing, Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang delivered a speech. It is important because it demonstrates how China is "embedding" energy ties with Russia at the level of institutional and political architecture.

The key points are captured in three theses from Ding:

◾First: "stability of cross-border energy channels and uninterrupted trade." This is diplomatic code for ensuring the steady functioning of corridors, payments, logistics, and supply chains - in other words, the system’s resilience to external pressure, without explicitly mentioning sanctions.

◾Second: "energy transition and renewables." This is less about climate than about deepening dependence beyond hydrocarbons into technology, equipment, and modernization. The more components and engineering come from China, the harder it will be for Russia to "pivot" to the West through any business proposals.

◾Third: "multilateral coordination in energy." This concerns the rules for circumventing sanctions - essentially legitimizing an alternative framework for cooperation.

In other words, while Washington discusses Russian demands, seeks compromises, and assumes it can weaken the Russia-China connection, Beijing focuses on channels, infrastructure, technology, and rules - in other words, on what makes the China-Russia link long-term and systemic.

>part 1
>>
>>522910583
>While negotiations over a "peace plan" for Ukraine continue, China is turning Russia into its "resource rear" in case of a potential confrontation with the U.S. and the EU.

On the Russian side, Igor Sechin confirmed Ding’s points, stating a simple idea: energy is the "backbone" of Russia-China ties and the main channel of mutual dependence. He provided illustrative figures: China is Russia’s number one partner (34% of Russia’s foreign trade, with a 2024 trade turnover of $245 billion); energy accounts for about 70% of Russian exports to China; Russia is China’s top oil supplier (around 20% of imports); and China has "saved" approximately $20 billion on Russian oil since 2022 (likely due to low prices under sanctions pressure).

Sechin’s data can be supplemented with other open-source figures, which indicate that the China-Russia energy alliance is no longer just a "plan" but already functioning flows and infrastructure.

China consistently underwrites key Russian export items: oil, gas, coal, LNG - plus long-term nuclear projects. In numbers: approximately 1.4 million barrels/day of Russian oil goes to China by sea, and ~0.9 million barrels/day via pipelines; China takes around 47% of Russian crude exports (mid-2025 estimate). Gas is covered by the Power of Siberia pipeline: over 38 billion m3 expected deliveries in 2025, with plans to raise annual volumes to 44 billion m3. China takes roughly 43-44% of Russian coal exports; Russian LNG shipments to China hit a record 8.3 million tons in 2024. Nuclear energy projects include Tianwan units 7 & 8 and Xudabao units 3 & 4. All this forms the "cushion" for the Russian budget and military economy.

May just be YE bookkeeping activity to make the sums add up so don't want to get carried away. If this continues through to January however...
It would be interesting to know if this was weighted for short-term deposits which would imply a near-term cash shortage.

The contrast with Moscow’s "peace proposals" to the U.S. is clear: promises and access to money/assets. Specifically, Russia is trying to entice the U.S. with the idea of using ~$300 billion in frozen Russian assets for joint projects and a "U.S.-led reconstruction" of Ukraine, along with potential agreements on the Arctic and private deals "after peace." However, many issues are blocked by the rigidity of the U.S.’s European partners: without solutions on security, sanctions, licenses, and legal mechanisms, nothing can move forward.

In summary: a real institutional and infrastructural base for energy integration between China and Russia is already in place. With the U.S., Moscow seeks to negotiate "normalization" and partial sanction relief through a "big business offer" - not replacing China, but gaining an additional channel of money and legitimacy.

Russia always deceives.

Russia can be forced into agreements only through force.

The U.S. must understand the traps set by Russia, because this is about geopolitical and state interests, the future of millions of people, not business deals.

President Nawrocki:

It is also a lesson for the present day, a lesson for us: there are no agreements with the Moskals [Russians], neither in the 19th century, nor in the 20th century, nor in the 21st century. There is only lies, a desire to break one's spirit and a desire to destroy.

This is a lesson that we all must learn, ladies and gentlemen.

Yeah, I would have to illegally cross from poland to make it to the recruitment center too. And I think making it to poland may be an issue for me, depending on how hard it's to get a visa.
So it's like a 3 week stay in ukraine to see if I even make the cut. At least they have coordinators on telegram and whatsapp to see if they would even consider me a valid option.

President Macron:

I really believe that in the weeks to come, the pressure on the Russian economy and Russia's capacity to finance the war effort will drastically change.

>we need to make Ukraine as strong as possible

Why don't these cunts that run the E-yew simply invade Ookraine, don't they already have a casus belli when Ruzzia invaded, what are they waiting for, why do they continue to let Ookraine lose?

President Macron:

They [the US] first called for a ceasefire. March of this year, President Zelensky said, yes, I agree with the ceasefire. They went over.
Russia said, no. Then another proposal came through in June. We worked on it here in London.
Russia said, no. Then there was Anchorage, an American proposal for mediation. Russia said, no.
America is coming forward with yet another proposal to mediate. We now need to wait for Russia's response. Are they willing to put an end to fighting or not?

President Erdoğan:

"The war between Russia and Ukraine appears to have reached a point where it clearly threatens navigation safety in the Black Sea. The targeting of commercial vessels in our Exclusive Economic Zone on Friday signals a worrying escalation.

We cannot justify these attacks in any way, which threaten navigation, life, and environmental safety, especially in our EEZ. We are conveying the necessary warnings to all parties regarding such incidents.

We are closely monitoring the developments in recent weeks aimed at ending the war. We state at every opportunity that we are ready to make the necessary contributions."

This is all a consequence of the criminal, unprovoked war that Russia started against Ukraine, and it is Russia, the terrorist, that must be stopped in order to achieve stability in the region.

We are grateful to Türkiye for its peace initiatives and its enormous contribution and diplomacy in the search for solutions to end this unjust war.

From December 3 to 5, President Macron will visit China.

The visit will focus on the economy and cooperation not just between France and China, but between the EU and China, too. I assume that Russia's war in Ukraine and EU security will also be discussed.

It is telling that the visit will take place before the meeting between President Trump and President Xi, and that it is being organized at the invitation of the Chinese side.

The results may serve as a clear demonstration of the dynamics of the "autonomization of European policy" - the process where EU member states act not only in the wake of the US's policy.

"We hope that China can convince Russia to put an end to the war and to engage in negotiations that respect Ukraine's fundamental rights and allow us to achieve peace and security on the European continent," a source of the South China Morning Post newspaper said.

Many experts have long said that peace in Russia's war against Ukraine (the West) cannot be achieved without Beijing's support. Europe is also reacting to the fact that active Russian-American negotiations are taking place without the EU's participation.

If large-scale concessions are made to the Kremlin, this could undermine the interests of both the EU and China. In particular, this concerns Central Asia and the Caucasus, where China is currently strengthening its presence.

Another important issue is the issue of Taiwan.

The French president is a good mediator and diplomat and will be able to convey the EU's position.
If this succeeds, the contours of the peace process could take shape as early as 2026, along the lines of the US-EU-PRC.
