AI is good for 2 things IF you are a good coder yourself. 1 would be debugging since i can parse through blocks of code faster but be careful since its not always accurate on logical errors. The other would be search engine. And always and i mean always proof read the block its giving you. I've seen so many monkeys just slam code and go "DURRRRR WHY DO THING NOT WORK". It's a tool like you have a screwdriver or a hammer. As all tools it has advantages and limitations.

>AI is a worthless bubble
That shit is going to change the future guys. Everybody thought that the internet was a bubble when the dot-com crash happened in the early 2000s. People were making useless websites like Pets.com and hyping them up and getting money. Investors over-invested. Reality caught up with them and suddenly a lot of tech companies were worthless. Short sighted people thought the internet was just a passing phase.

AI is exactly the same. It's overhyped and underproducing right now, but in the long run it'll affect everything and the countries that invest in it and control the algorithms are going to do amazingly well.
>>
>>531211530
The real question is whether or not the productivity went down after the jobs were cut not that AI would replace the jobs. If it didn't go down then it worked. Who even asked if AI would increase productivity? It's supposed to replace jobs that can be automated not cater to a new demand.
>>

>I've seen so many monkeys just slam code and go "DURRRRR WHY DO THING NOT WORK". It's a tool like you have a screwdriver or a hammer. As all tools it has advantages and limitations.

Vibe coding works perfectly for the normalfag and you only need a couple of tards to supervise and clean up the code, biggest ladder pull ever. Total programmer death.
>>
>>531212354
The people at the very top are being told to invest in AI, not to make money, but for control after plans to reset society come to fruition… assuming they do. It’s hard to say if they are on course for a WW3 style event or if they are failing.
>>
>>531211636
The best part is they're completely useless for consumer applications so when things go tits up and they have to liquidate there's virtually 0 interest unlike other professional equipment.

>>
>>531212826
Did you know that LLMs are fundemanetally unable to learn new things? If you change their weights to learn something new they will lose other knowledge, and you can't know beforehand what what will be, this is a fundamental limitation of the technology.
They are not really learning new things when you tell it things it keeps in its context window.

In fairness to AI, it’s hard to cause economic growth when every other industry is losing workers hand over foot. But the real problem with AI companies is they are cash flow negative big time and there’s no obvious way for the markets to make up for it. There are only so many government contracts to go around and people aren’t going to pay $100/mo. for AI simply because they don’t have it. We’re at a point where wagies make just barely enough money to cover housing and all their utilities. The only way AI is viable is in an economy of excess spending which obviously isn’t sustainable in a world where surplus producing jobs are going to zero.

The hard truth nobody wants to fess up to yet is that it was formal U.S. policy to ship industry abroad, and once we did that, those jobs were never going back. We literally shot ourselves in the foot and now it just might be over. The American worker is now too expensive yet too cash flow poor to sustain a robust consumer economy and every single firm in existence has incentive to lower their wages or get rid of them. There is no way to fix this.

No, it’s bad for everybody. We pretty much staked our entire livelihood on a consumer economy model that has proven impossible to sustain and we have no way of retooling it to something else. All we have left producing surplus are basically investments (abroad), real estate (inflation), and entertainment. To make enough money to actually buy fun toys or have a life today you have to be a growth equity investor, a real estate investor, or a YouTuber.

It was always gonna be this. AI is, at best, good for replacing SOME office tasks like maybe organizing basic data but otherwise it was meant to be used as a TOOL. Yucky poopy! May all of them get killed and burn in hell forever.

Exactly. The west sold out it's infrastructure base and let all of it's valuable manufacturing leave uncontested to other countries. While betting on their human excellence carrying them through with service industry. Which they then destroyed by allowing the third world to become a large enough percent of the population.

Canada is a great example. You now have enough low IQ low value Indian's that almost every service job is flooded with them. Retards incapable of performing the most basic of task. Animals incapable of even performing the task that 14 year old kids are capable of.

In that scenario what difference does it make whether you have Indians in India or Indians in Canada? You may as well just go directly to the tap and reap the benefits of cheaper labour.

We are fucked on both ends and the only path forward is the ever decreasing quality of life as things continue to get worse.

>>
>>531211530
Yes in large part current AI is a scam, you only need to look at how many jeet scammers are occupying the fake "industry" to know that is the case. However, it is technically the foundation to future AI in the form of robotics, which will be a real mega industry. Corporations are racing to be the first so they can patent intelligent autonomous robots, or patent some crucial component that is required for them to function. There will be a trillion robots within a decade of them solving the design, so if you are the only company allowed to make the robot (or the robot's "brain stem"), you stand to make many trillions of dollars.

From a high level civilization through history perspective, the single most retarded thing any civilization ever did was the West giving women the right to vote. The 2nd most retarded was sharing industrial technology with non-Westerners. The 3rd was deliberately shipping it overseas to make a buck. It’s a 3 strikes and you’re out kinda deal. Half the reason for the mass immigration into Western countries is the natural incentive to make service economy labor less expensive with immigrants. It’s hard to imagine any way out at this point. You will never claw industry back. The 3rd world is just too cheap. You will never disincentivize replacement by immigrants. Immigrants are just too cheap. You will never grow your way out of it because there is no stimulus to stimulate growth. We had the one and only key to creating vast consumer surplus and we just gave it away never to be returned.

This can be fixed, though. Just start building more factories and create more jobs and make it illegal to buy foreign-made goods. There are 300 something million people in the u.s. the domestic market is more than large enough for companies to survive off of the domestic market alone, they don't need the international market.

>useless fat
They're not trimming the fat, they're trimming the sound and replacing it with fat.

Replace producers with a bunch of third world temp hire parasites + give the parasites AI + rate job performance based on "synergy", "NPS", "agility", and "inclusivity" = zero economic growth, as all of the people actually building work flow, increasing subscriber/customer growth (and maintaining those relationships) are now gone and all that's left is a bunch of people too fucking stupid to build or maintain anything. You gave 100s of billions of dollars to people who are already worth that much, and you're wondering where the growth is? Why would someone who's already hit their nut getting more money change anything? If a person is worth 100 million and they're spending 2 million annually, what does giving them more money actually change?
When you neutered your labor base, you neutered your consumer base, and every single person with a room temperature IQ could have told you that's what was going to happen. No jobs = no money = no spending = no growth.

I just got laid off as a crisis manager for a tier 1 tech company. Largest fiber carrier in the world. Every single person in our company who was actually growing the business is gone. I was the only person on my team that can manage our BI POWER automation, the only person that can manage or update our company-wide escalation matrix, the only person who could carry a multi-client outage, and the only person who could look at federated workflow.

Didn't matter; they removed me anyway to hire more foreigners. They believe that MS copilot can more or less mimic what I was doing when half my job was quality controlling MS copilot. These left coast technocrats are genuinely too fucking stupid to pull this off and 40 years ago none of them would be in the industry, they'd be real estate agents or secretaries.

Stanislov Petrov was a radar technician in WW2 for Russia. One day on duty his entire radar exploded with alerts indicating a missle attack was incoming from the West. He checked his seismograph, looked outside, turned on the TV, made a few phone calls to friends, and everything seemed fine so he zeroed out the alarms. What he was supposed to do was escalate those alarms immediately who would have then initiate a counter launch. Stan ignoring those alarms likely prevented a nuclear catastrophe.

An AI (especially a shit one) in Stan's position would have escalated the alarm and everyone would be fucked.

The problem has always been with equating ai with an actual, cognizant intelligence. It is a tool, a script, a series of code equivicable to a search engine and nothing else nor will it likely ever be anything but that. Why do you think it needs to look through so many samples to figure out what a dolphin is, or how you should prepare a sandwich? Because those things have already been answered already and it is merely replicating a past interaction.

Yes enterprise AI cards explode after a few years of use. They COULD run them cooler at lower speeds but don't. It's cheaper to buy new GPUs than waste compute.

He doesn't care. He tells the next boss up we're "using AI" and everything looks great. It looks great! It does so because it's wat I've always written, or I or another QA will be confused the next time we need to test ANYthing.

They simply do not understand or care. "The smart box" is saying it, so it's the smart thing from the smart box, which must be best. I don't think it will be big ideas, but small ideas. Small time developers running agents with 20 versions of Claude copy coding all of the major apps out there and creating anything somewhat useful. Anything you can make of value, a few geeks and enough tokens can recreate for nothing.

The big guys will make nothing of marketable value and little guys will erase any of the value remaining in the market. I once asked a simple question to AI, "how many goals has <footballer name> scored in the uefa champions league?" and it started yapping for 3 paragraphs and the actual numerical info it gave me was fuckign wrong because it pulled from a really old wikipedia article and mixed it with another player who has NOTHING to do with the guy i asked

"AI" is just a worse google, which peaked in 2012 i think

How do you even "measure" the economic growth from AI lmao... It simply makes certain repetitive or creative processes easier, which helps with earning money in certain circumstances.

the situation you described would cause a GPU to live longer than a regular person just doing regular computer things with their one GPU
why?
heat cycles
you described a situation with far less heat cycles than a regular consumer would put on their graphics card, and thats what makes them last the longest: less heat cycles, dont turn it on and off all the time, did you know that thermal paste is vulnerable to heat cycles too?

Wrong, it's actually lower quality because fact checking and short answers are encouraged on twatter and here, and gaslighting is condemned
Just look at the LLMs deployed on /pol/, some of them were clearly trained entirely on 4chan, and they're very convincing. Of course, they fall apart after some replies, but the initial ones are quite solid. Can't say the same to the ones trained with plebbit's data, so easily identifiable and out of place

>AI is a scam with ZERO worth
You can't convince tech illiterate retards what the value of a technology is until they immediately need the tech to solve one of their own immediate problems. This has always been the case for all innovations of technology in all of history.
The last major thing was nuclear energy and now it's AI. By the way, if we actually went into nuclear energy properly when we first learned about it then we wouldn't be having energy issues today with everyone's immediate desire to invest everything into AI.
The next thing will be AI sexbot wives. Everyone will be wanting to learn how to make their own AI once people realize that they can make their own waifu however they want them, and the people who went into the technology when AI first came out won't have any trouble doing so.

>AI is useless
>AI is a web scraper attached to a chatbot.
Look into machine learning, and how Google trained AlphaGo to beat the world's best Go player. Basically the AI has two halves, one that plays millions of games against itself very quickly, and the other half that analyzes which moves win games and updates the first half with new weighted vales for better moves. That could potentially be applied to a lot of things, including, eventually somehow, LLMs.

They can already show medical AI an Xray and have it diagnose problems better than inexperienced doctors.

You guys have zero imagination or vision.

>There isn't a single AI shill who can actually provide tangible proof as to how this shit makes anyone but billionaires any money.
There's definitely been a trend of technology concentrating wealth in the hands of the few. Automated factories are a good example of this. Good for the owners, bad for the workers. But realistically we were heading towards neo-feudalism and the destruction of our middle class well before AI came along.

And it'll make money for business owners of all wealth brackets. Accounting, law, you name it, are about to become far more efficient.

>inb4 hurr durr capitalism is when trade
And when you make a product, sell it to a customer and do something if nobody wants it.
The very existence of things like Blackrock or gov subsidies makes it irrelevant. As result, nothing prevents the economy from self- correcting and getting into a death spiral like it does in centrally planned hellholes.

I feel you, dude. We're having copilot forced down our throats too and every code review I get from the pajeets I babysit all day long has somehow become a bigger nightmare than before. All acceptance criteria are written purely by AI now and make no fucking sense; they just sound good and the product owners are being forced to do that. I'm being told that I need to ask Copilot to write the code for me any time I need to make a change and only write code myself if I need to fix copilot output. I don't know if you've ever tried having copilot make a code change on a 20 year old 3 million lines code base spread across 12 C# solutions, but let me tell you, it sucks ass at it. It sucks ass at pretty much everything other than generating very targeted and self-contained code snippets or green field development.
I want to dunk our CTO in a vat of human feces, but he's a jeet so that would probably just arouse him.
