A similar thing happened to my teamsters chapter (boomers giving themselves raises and more vacation time while the zoomer and millenial drivers got their pay REDUCED) and unironically the move was leaving the union, then our competing the old geezers on pay cuts. Im short, we deliberately put the boomers out of work by taking a huge paycut (one bigger than the paycut they gave us). My mistake the thumbnail was very small. So the rug pull begins as of the next school year beginning. And no, as a customer you wouldn't be paying that. They'd charge about 100 or more per hour because they get benefits on top of that take home. There are shops that charge 100 an hour for apprentices even and they don't tell the customers about the different levels of employee they're sending or the rates difference but that's mostly seen in a residential shop in our local.
