This is the destination for all based webms, brotherOn tonight's docket: NJPW Windy City Riot, Wrestling World 2024, AJPW, NOAH and King's Road!
I'm starting off with the stuff I missed last week! A couple of clips from Sakura Genesis, NOAH and Misawa vs. Kawada.
>>14327411Moxley is the MOST BASED IWGP WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION in NJPW history.
>>14327709>gets divorced>becomes a better wrestlerBaseDaga
>>14327807It's probably a controversial opinion on here (along with anything else positive regarding NOAH's junior division) but I've really enjoyed Daga's heel reign. It's good stuff.
>>14327411What did you think of the Moxley/Naito match webmbro? I found it vastly underwhelming and that it ended too soon, but I haven't rewatched it with a more attentive set of eyes since then.
>>14327895Yeah, pretty similar. I summed up my thoughts in last week's thread.>t was alright. I actually think Mox has looked pretty good in NJPW over the past year despite not being a huge fan of him historically, but not having the incredible Japan production on his side really hurt it. Not as good as I wanted it to be, but about as good as I expected.I'm not a Moxley guy and the one thing that keeps me from outright disliking him is NJPW's production being really good. I didn't want Naito to lose the belt but going in it felt all too possible, so I'm sure my expectations were hurt by that as well. On the bright side Mox very quickly set up a program with both Narita and Uemura, which is a huge plus. I just hope he puts over someone notable.
Done catching up! Here's Windy City Riot.
>>14327935inching closer in that bridge to lock in the pin makes my neck hurt
This landing looks fucking horrendous. You couldn't pay me to do that shit.
This shit is really sick. I'm not super attached to WCWC more than just a spots team, but this stuff makes me wish I was.
>>14327771based, thanks for continuing this match. Hoped you weren't going to cocktease me and post it last
>>14328421If everything goes as planned, I'll have another King's Road match to close out tomorrow's thread, so I didn't feel like being annoying about it.
Webm bro, is this even worth converting? It's a quick gif but the main thing I hate is the ProWresBlog trampstampany way to remove it?
I wonder if based webmchad listens to any music while clipping and uploading all this footage. I envision you as a Chain Reaction Records techno kind of lad, but who knows.
I can't be the only one who was so surprised at how well Perry did the heel thing in the US. He didn't feel super comfortable in Japan, but I actually really enjoyed his performance here. Still don't love him as a wrestler, but the heel stuff is good.>>14328459That's Hashimoto vs. Yamazaki, though I don't think it's from their G1 finals which is the only match of theirs I have saved. I could just crop the logo if you want me to, but I personally don't see a point in a 150p webm. I'm gonna see if I can track teh spot down and get you a proper webm.>>14328462It happens. >Shinichi Atobe - The Red LineI never got into techno much myself, but I gave this a listen now that you brought it up and it's nice.
>>14328538Thanks, would love some more Hashimoto in general!
>>14328459Found it, it's from their 1996 match in the Tokyo Dome.>>14328573I'll see if I can't do the G1 finals and/or this match while I'm at it. I have quite a bit lined up for this week, so if I don't post it now I'll do my best to have it done by next week.
>>14328702Of course brother, appreciated as alwaysI love me a good Kesagiri chop, one of my favorite strikes and Hashimoto seemed to have the copyright on the overhand one
>>14328732I'm the opposite, I think the Kesagiri is very hit-or-miss, but it's really fucking good when it hits. Relies a lot on a good sell, or you just decapitate the guy like Hashimoto used to do.
This is a really good Blaze Blade.
HE'S FUCKING JACKED!
I was sure Kidd was about to Hayabusa himself with a ladder for a fucking hardcore brawl spot against Eddie Kingston and Homicide.
What'd you think of Riddle's stay, webmbro?I thought he was pretty good
>>14331452I hate to say it, but I'm not convinced. He feels like such a weird, unfinished mix. He keeps up really well with ZSJ on the mat, and I feel like that's where the focus should be, but then he starts doing sentons and moonsaults and I lose interest entirely. I feel like he'd need a serious repackaging (and never speak again, bro) for me to like him.
This elbow catch is super good. And as always, I love the little jump into the Zackdriver.
>>14331594Reminded me of Ken Shamrock a bit. Guess he could've gone deeper into the ground game, true, but I didn't mind the germans and the occasional moonsault. What about Nemeth?I'm high on Nemeth overall, just think he needs some more impactful offense. Clinical seller though, absolutely deserves his reputation as one of the best sellers in the business.
>>14331791>What about Nemeth?I don't know if I've formed an opinion on him yet with two singles matches being all I've seen from him. I really liked the match against Ishii, but I'm fully convinced he could make anyone look like pure solid dimes.
I lvoe how Ishii jumps off the buckle.
Torn between thinking Ishii half died or that this landing is perfectly safe. Either way, I winced.
God I love Ishii's running headbutt.
>>14332824this whole match was like those michaels and hart selling clips, but for 15 minutes. i loved it
>>14332331That nothing kick before he runs the rope is like a WWE parody kek
I'm onto Wrestling World now! Can't promise to cover the entire show, but I'm going to try to.
Smooth setup. Zack would be proud.
MIlano popped like crazy for this.
Good selling from Fujita here.
>>14332576>>14332824Nemeth really knows how to use his long hair to sell whipping his head aroundfeel like this is something of a lost artBret Hart was always great at it too. I can't remember where, might've been Bret's book, but he mentioned something about how a lot of wrestlers favored having long hair because it helped them sell.
Yen.
YEN.
So slick.
Pure yen combo.
This guy's simply too fucking big.
Don't have much time to post Dragongate this weekend so you'll just get some storyline moments from me.After having turned on his Natural Vibes teammates and aligned with Z-Brats, Jason Lee and Jacky Funky Kamei seem to be on a collision course.
Basado. I'm confused as to why they didn't officially announce this as Boltin's graduation match or even do it before, but I think this is a cute celebration even if it doesn't feel very formal or official. It's also all for me tonight! I'll be back tomorrow with some NOAH catch-up, AJPW title matches and King's Road, all depending on what kind of time I have. I'll see you all then! Sleep well, bros.>>14334733Always great to have you, DGbro! Hopefully you can keep us bumped for a little before the EUbros can pick up. Thanks for the OC!
It's official, at Dead or Alive, Mascara contra Cabellera 5 Way Steel Cage Match>Shun Skywalker - Mask on the linevs.>Kzy - Natural Vibes leadership on the linevs.>Jason Lee - Hair on the linevs. >Jacky Funky Kamei - Hair on the linevs.>HYO - Hair on the line(?)>>14334762Thank you WebMBro
Might be able to get the main event. Finals for Rey de Parejas. Naruki Doi & Dragon Kid vs. YAMATO & Susumu Yokosuka (has changed his name from Susumu Mochizuki)
How does Dragon Kid manage to make stuff look so easy at his age
ey yo, Doi wtf
>>14334526kek what a based delinquent
The champions come out to confront the winners of the tournament. Naruki Doi is pissed.>You refuse to wear Dragongate's Twin Gate titles on the shows you appear on. Of all the Twin Gate Champions in history, you two have reduced the value of the belts the most. You are third rate champions.Kaito fires back>In that case, you two are fifth rate challengers.
To end the show the four competitors in the finals note that them being the final teams in the tournament shows that the old guard still have much to give and decide to join forces. So a new veteran unit has formed in Dragongate (name tbd). Members:>YAMATO (42). Debuted in 2006.>Naruki Doi (43). Debuted in 2000>Dragon Kid (48). Debuted in 1997>Susumu Yokosuka (45). Debuted 1995
>>14327411Thank you, based webmbro.
>>14334762Thanks as always webmCHAD>>14334779and dgCHAD
>>14335795Based fellow "thanks"-posterTime to keep the thread bumped - the EUbros doing our part o7
Bampu
>>14332091Not gonna let this thread die
>>14336459doing my part!
>>14331258Did he just want out or something? He seems regular, isn't wearing all that gay shit or getting into trouble anymore.
>>14338765>>14338462Based
>>14339217He walked out celebrating after losing, there's no way Riddle could wrestle in Shin "anti-drugs" Nihon
>>14327411are you doing requests from dailymotion? if so, can I get the kid not wanting Natalya's glasses (from 1:32 to 1:46)https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8weqm0
>>14341597lmao she's so fucking anti-dimes
>>14340670Why can't wrestling look like this anymore? I don't mean the moves or wrestlers, I mean the camera and colors
bumping for webmbro
I'm back! Thank you all for keeping us bumped! Here's some NOAH to get us started.>>14341597I'll try to get that done in a bit! Remind me if I miss it.
Slick movement.
>>14329100>>14329352 Why does this dork even want to go back to AEW when he can be big fish in a small bond the first time in his life?
>>14342902>>14342992>>14343111Morris has been really good lately.
>>14343193I've liked him. Haven't caught up far enough to see the HAYATA match yet, but I am curious to see how that plays out.
I haven't really loved him before, but between the Akiyama match and this, I am starting to really love Kotoge as Team NOAH's junior shit starter.
Actually sorta cool.
BASED
>oiwa lil bro-ing niggas with boston crabsHe's grown so much.
Thank you
Really good break. It feels like they're sorta going all in on Owada as their star young lion with the others on excursion now and he's looking fucking fantastic.
DUMPED
>kaito still beating the shit out of kenoh in the background
Always a based spot.
>>14341597>>14342804I'm reminding you :)
It's fucking silly how smooth Maru still is.>>14344225Downloading, working on it. Thanks!
>>14344225Don't worry, he'll get around to itI'm waiting on the Hashimoto request from the start of the thread but by god, webmbro never forgets
>>14344225Here it is!>>14344308If I don't have time for the full Hashimoto request by tonight, I promise I'll be closing the thread out with the decapitation webm.
>>14344374You a real one (not Enzo Amore)
>>14344374LMAO thank you so much!
And he's still tricky as hell. Such a Maru-only finish.
>unintelligibleWhy's he so mad?
This shit made me laugh so much. It reminds me of that Goldberg vs. La Parka gif.
Next up is some AJPW Finnerjima, starting with his match against Abe.
Such a good KO sell from Abe.
The little single-leg stall here is beautiful.
And next up is his defense vs. Ashino! I think it's a shame the Abe match wasn't given more time, but I get that AJPW Abe isn't BattlARTS.
The most nonchalant way to throw a guy out of the ring ever.
Love Nakajima selling the neck, it's such an overlooked part of making these strike trades meaningful.
So sick.
Jesus H Fucking Christ this is not fun to watch.
I really love the yank down into the pin halfway through the suplex here. Always makes it look more impactful.
Fucking crumpled.
So, so, so good.
I fucking love Anzai's leg sells. Nakajima's kicks are like bombshells, so I'm sure it hurts a ton for a shoot, but Anzai is so good at illustrating "holy shit I am not putting weight there right now"
I really like how both Anzai and Kaito spring off their opponents with their jumping knees.
Love how Nakajima shoves Anzai off him here. So much character in that little interaction.
>>14328029>>14328085>>14328187Thanks I was at this card but didn't think to even look up clips from it.
The stumble on this whiffed lariat is so fucking perfect.
Love how Nakajima doesn't even catch this elbow, he just kinda grabs it as it hits him. The arm wring is brutal looking too.
As a kayfabechad, I kind of have to object to the result of this match. Anzai was clearly out both after the sleeper hold and this palm strike. The ref should not have let it continue.
GANMEN WO!
Weird finish, I'm bummed I couldn't see the board's reactions to this when it happened. I think this finish would've been perfect for a tag match setting up the pin and title match, but it's weird as a finish to a title match. Nakajima is on offense for literally 95% of the match. The two jumping knees and this suplex are the only moves Anzai lands bar a dropkick. It doesn't really translate as the crowning of a new ace at all to me, it feels like a fluke victory, meant to make Nakajima respect Anzai for an upcoming match, but maybe they plan to expand on that. Conflicted on the result, but happy to see Anzai as champ even if I don't love specfically the result, the kid deserves it. Super good match aside from that, and if this is the end of Nakajima's time in AJPW I think it was a very fun run.
Finally (I haven't forgotten the Hashimoto webm, I promise) here's Mitsuharu Misawa & Toshiaki Kawada vs Akira Taue & Jun Akiyama from 04.12.92, the final match from that year!
Kawada's fucking face murders my sides
These kicks are dumb. What a fucking welcome to the business.
Then again, this isn't any less dumb.
Really, really good break. So well shot.
>>14342804>Thank you all for keeping us bumpedYou are welcome
>>14348727You're on my Rushmore, bumpchad.
Based Misawa swagging on the young boy.
>>14328459>>14344308Here's that Hashimoto request! Sorry about the delay, but I'm happy to have something this sick to round out the thread. More next week!
That's all I've got for you this week! I'll be back next week with NJPW Wrestling Dontaku, NOAH, GLEAT and those Hashimoto matches I promised! Thank you all for hanging out in what I would like to say is one of the better threads recently! Good discussion, some requests and plenty of quality webms. A special thank you to DGbro for the OC. This one is my favorite from this round. >>14335055Goodnight, bros.
>>14348829Arigato~>>14349040Goodnight and until next weekend, based webmbro.
>>14329873Accidentally triggered the ol moonsault reflex. Many wrestlers struggle with it
>>14349184KekI'm imagining a PSA in black and white about how you can get compensation if you suffer from random sudden backflips because of your time in the industry
>>14349040thanks as always webmCHAD
