It's a mess and a symptom of the larger problem of Tony being a money mark, trusting in wrestlers who care about themselves more than the company and Tony spending way too much of talent.The Elite are being typical wrestlers and putting themselves in main event programs that they don't deserve. Tony can't really say no to them because he's paying them so much and because if they left, WWE would take them just to make AEW look bad. Nobody's going to tell him that he's being used as a money mark, because then they might not get their big contract, so Tony has no idea what's going on. It doesn't help that people like Dave and Reddit also kiss his ass and block him from seeing what's going on.The whole storyline has been a mess from Day 1. The Bucks can't be fired or suspended for attacking Tony yet other people are suspended and fired on and off TV all the time. It makes no sense.They've never been able to pin down the faces in this thing. Some of it has been due to injury and some of it has just been due to bad booking. The Stadium Stampede match should have been the end of this thing, yet it keeps going on with new people who weren't even involved in Stadium Stampede. There's nothing on the line and no consequences for the result.I'm pretty sure this whole thing was supposed to involve Kenny and Ibushi (because The Elite only do storylines with each other), but both have been injured/sick. Ibushi is okay now though. Tony's notoriously bad at pivoting and probably booked this thing months in advance and didn't want to change it and this is what we get. But again, Dave and Reddit will like it and ignore every problem with it and this shit will just keep going on until Kenny/Ibushi are back and fighting The Bucks.
