Hah, you know this is actually kind of interesting. Obviously NXT's in a small room anyway, I guess I never really thought about this before now!
>>
it is smart to get these new guys to work NXT too

i would even send them to TNA kek
>>
>>15819354
If you replaced the NXT ring and the wrestlers you’d have your average episode of any AEW show’s attendance

Same. I always assumed they kept the setup from black and gold, but looks like they're maximizing the space they have.

Sad.

And yet /pw/ keep insisting wrestling is in another boom period. LMAO. Proves how young most of this board is. They have no idea what a wrestling boom looks like.

That doesn't mean this is a boom period though. As I said, you are too young to know what a boom period is like. Wrestling used to be mainstream in American culture. It's certainly not anymore. Wrestling stars used to be mainstream celebrities. Again, not the case today, and far from it. The biggest stars associated with wrestling are retired or semi-retired stars that got their start over 20+ years ago.

But I don't expect you to understand because you weren't alive, or perhaps were far too young to recognize it at the time.

Pic related: Hulk Hogan was in that Michael Jordan tier of mainstream relevance back in the mid to late '80s. That's probably the best comparison I can make that you might understand.
>>
>>15827712
it is mainstream though, the #1 streaming artist in the world wrestled a match for wwe. multiple other top artists are coming in all the time, theres tons of crossover with the nba and ufc as well. on top of that its moving to fucking netflix.
>>
>>15827712
>>15827720
and thats not even mentioning logan paul, or the kelce brothers appearing at wrestlemania, or jey uso being walked to the ring by lil wayne. mainstream is a lot different than it was in the 80s
>>
>>15827637
Every nostalgia act post covid has been selling a shitload of tickets post covid. Look at concerts.
>>
>>15827720
None of that crossover has made modern wrestlers well known in mainstream Americana though. I really don't think you understand, but literally everyone knew Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Andre, Undertaker, Steve Austin, Rock, Ric Flair, Warrior, Nash and Hall, I could keep going. Wrestling had two boom periods in my lifetime: mid 80s through 1991ish, and 97-02ish. Today is nothing like that. In fact, all of those old stars are STILL more well known than modern wrestlers.

And yes, Hulk Hogan is still more recognizable than Logan Paul, despite being retired for nearly two decades.

you need to interact with people younger than 40 years old

You should have stopped at Hogan. Noone in family knew who Kevin Nash was. Roman Reigns has been on the Today show, Tonight show, ESPN, has murals in India, etc.

wrestling is more mainstream now than it's been since the 80s. In the 90s it was extremely well known, but even at its peak it was considered garbage tier trash TV like Jerry Springer or Jackass. WWE now gets legitimate press from sports publications, and mainstream Hollywood, music and sports tie-ins. Just like any other part of culture now though everything is so segmented now there is no actual "pop culture" anymore so it's never going to feel like anything before
