Why were the ring ropes black on smackdown from about February-August 2002? Before that, the ropes were blue, and they’ve been either blue or white (that’s a whole other can of worms) since then.

>>15843672I realize this is a 92thread, but I’ve always been autistic about wrestling ring setups. The WCW ropes were cables, the WWF/E ropes have always been actualropes. Also, WWF had black ropes for PPVs starting a year or two before WCW folded. WCW started using primarily red and blue ropes the last year or so of its existence, though I believe the last WCW PPV and Nitro used black ropes.
