This is my favorite promotion

say something nice about it

It spawned TJPW?
>>
is Cara Noir still there or did he return to Europe?

Once you skip the low card gay rape joke matches the actual upper card and main event stuff is honestly really good even if DDT isn't the best at booking stories. Also DDT is better at training young talent than NJPW.

I enjoyed DDT Ultimate Party 2019 even though it was long as fuck. Despite not understanding Japanese, some of the comedy was surprisingly decent.

Dramatic Dream Theater

It's good. I've only watched like one episode from 2002 and one episode from 2005 but that's about it. Is it worth checking out?
>>
I started watching them this year and have been surprised at how much I've enjoyed their shows.

Most of the smaller shows you can miss. Peter Pan and Ultimate Party are their two biggest shows of the year and usually feature some genuinely entertaining hijinks. Antonio Honda, Kazuki Hirata, and Chris Brookes are usually the highlights of shows for me.
Antonio Honda's schtick can get repetitive, but when you learn to appreciate it you will find yourself amused over how he finds new ways to do the same old thing for each match.
Kazuki Hirata had flat out the best comedy match I have ever scene when he faced NJPW'S Hiromu Takahashi at Ultimate Party last year. It was an absolute wild ride of will he/won't he twists and turns as Hirata desperately tried to get Hiromu to play along with his gimmick, and Hiromu playing against his own character to subvert the audiences dedication.
Chris Brookes won me over during the empty arena era when he self produced a series of surrealist shows under the Chris Brookes Presents banner. His Baka Gaijin+ shows he does now are okay, but they lacked the setting that empty venues provided for him to really go off the rails.

Ibushi vs YOSHIHIKO was fire.

It's the best one, easily. It also filters idiots who don't understand wrestling.

I like MAO and Kazusada Higuchi a lot.

Hirata is unironically great. Top tier comedy guy and the sunglasses+Tokyo Go stuff is based but when he actually has to work a straight match he's as good as anyone else and the loser comedy thing gives him an inherent underdog quality.

I was sad when he dropped the Sexy character. I'm just going to assume that he didn't want to do it anymore and with Imanari leaving and Koju Takeda getting injured, the Pheromones just didn't feel the same anymore.
