I was thinking it's an ankle fusion with bone graft but a fusion will also affect range of motion so maybe it's not that. You wouldn't need bone graft for an acute fracture so I assume it isn't that but then it says he has an injury so I don't know, and I assume the bone being disintegrated is his talus. Maybe he fractured his talus, they tried to fix it with screws, it failed (talus fractures have high rates of avascular necrosis depending on fracture location) and now needs revision surgery with bone graft.At any rate, KWAB.
