Post wrestlers you thought had IT before realizing they didn't
>>
>>16203388
Claudio is excellent as long as you don't have him cut promos. He's built like a Greek god and is freakishly strong. Also he gets a pass on promos since English is his fifth language.
>>
>>16203399
If he had a mouthpiece and was pushed as an unstoppable super athlete it could easily draw a few dimes. He could never be the guy but he could be something similar to Ivan Drago from the Rocky movies and be used to put over the top babface. WWE never seemed to figure this out and AEW are even worse because they seem to think he's fine being the same boring Swiss guy he's been for the majority of his career.
>>
>>16203439
>AEW are even worse
AEW is using him better because they're just using him as muscle for the BCC, he rarely cuts any promos.
>>
>>16203388
Ken Kennedy
Samoa Joe
>>
>>16203448
Smoey Joey has it.
>>
>>16203388
Caludio's main issue for me is he basically wrestles one match in singles. It can be a very entertaining match depending on the opponent, but it's the same one over and over. I like the guy, but yeah, as a midcarder.
>>16203448
Young Joe was great. A-tier wrestler. A shame he quickly got overshadowed in TNA. I still think the guy does well for his size and age and he's got genuine charisma, but he's kinda B-tier now.
>>
>>16203388
Swerve actually was this for me. The Page feud had me thinking he'd make a great world champion instead of the epitome of mediocre.
>>
>>16203448
the brock feud proved even an old sawdusted joe was still a top tier wrestler
>>
>>16203388
John Morrison
Seff
Rhea ripley
>>
>>16203559
Because he was an awful babyface and now he’s feuding with blacks because Tony gave up on him

>did a more impressive strongman spot than Hogan ever did
despite all this, has never drawn a dime

That period when Real Americans, Wyatts and Shield were first getting pushed was the last time WWE was good
>>
>>16203388
his charisma is lacking.

I distinctly remember a period of about a month when it was conceivable that Cesare was going to work against brock and then nothing happened. am I tripping?

I can't believe I was a hardcore Zack Ryder fan in highschool
>>
>>16203388
He's never had it. He was always a boring swiss faggot since ROH
>>
>>16203904
I can more or less understand most of your list, but Mojo Rawley? Wtf did you see in Mojo Rawley?
>>
he needs to return home to be with his BANGERS brother
>>
>>16203439
Ya dude Vladimir Koslov was super over lmfao
>>
>>16203388
For me, it was Chris Masters. I was 1000% sure we were watching the early rise of a future WWE Champion.

Blitzkrieg in WCW.
But I'm a mark for X-Division / Cruiserweight stuff.
>>
>>16203448
Anderson was great in TNA especially his feud with Angle. Dude just happened to be his own worst enemy behind Randy Orton.

Joe has proven he has "It" in every company he's been in and was the perfect transitional champ in AEW during his title reign.
>>
>>16203388
I liked Cesaro but I knew he didn't have it way back in the Claudio days when he was making blogs about cups of coffee
>>
>>16203559
Swerve was the opposite for me. I don't watch WWE but I knew him from LU and CZW. He pretty quickly went from, "oh hey, it's my boy" to "holy shit, this dude is going to be be champ before the year is over." His feuds with Page were the best things in AEW during a shit-tier time in that company and he had a great run with the belt.

Swerve has it.
>>
>>16203955
Rybotch was always a third tier Goldberg.
He never had "it."
>>
>>16203439
>WWE never seemed to figure this out
This dweeb had 11 years to get over in the WWE system, and they tried many times to push him to the moon but all he really did was charisma-vacuum his way back into catering every single time.

>zack ryder
Arguably has "it." Proved he did almost the second he left WWE.

>ziggler
See above.

>mvp
Went to TNA. They paired him with Lashley and Kenny King and made him the mouthpiece of the group. Went back to WWE and they booked him the exact same way. Went to AEW and they book him the exact same way. MVP may not be "the guy" but he definitely makes everything he's a part of better.

>william regal
Everyone else on this list had to leave WWE to hit their peak. Regal is the exception. One of the few things Vince got right from an ex WCW guy.

>matt hardy
Was literally so over during the Broken gimmick that WWE fans were chanting "DELETE" at WWE events when he wasn't even in the company. If you're going to pick one Hardy who has "it," I'd say it was Matt.
>>
>>16205360
>Proved he did almost the second he left WWE
The indies don't have "It"
>MVP may not be "the guy" but he definitely makes everything he's a part of better.
Apparently not
>>
>>16205388

Joe should've gotten the belt in 2017. He was the most believable guy on the roster but they wanted Roman vs Brock so badly at Mania
>>
>>16205575
Unironically still got it. Won a feud against cancer but they booked a fucking return angle. I just hope they're not jobbing him out this time
>>
Monty Brown

Did you just start watching in 2020, retard? They gave him Aksana, Paul Heyman and Zeb Colter as managers and that was just in his first couple years

I don't watch WWE as I am neither an Indian nor a mentally challenged child but wasn't he massively over in NXT, held their belt, in the main event picture in their main brand, and a very popular announcer there?

Compare Mox now to whatever this shit is they kept saddling him with.

He's a Christian Cage situation. Vince personally tried to ruin his career, they went elsewhere and proved what the fans always knew.
>>
>>16205805
I was going to write up some post that went into detail but I guess that may be weird.
We'll have to agree to disagree.
>>
ciampa. he was so fucking dimes in his original NXT run but he never recovered the momentum after his neck surgery and dropping the title
>>
>>16203388
If only he didn’t have the worst hairline in the modern era. People instinctively find it weak and revolting. Shaving it bald couldn’t help him. The proof of his impotency is right there for the world to see. It’s why he can’t grab the brass ring.
>>
>>16203388
>This guy is great why isn't vince giving him a chance!
>Someone else gives him the chance

Many such cases

>>
>>16206190
It wasn't even a specific jab at cesaro the guy is skilled, a great athlete, and everyone agrees on that but when it's time to fill seats his apostles just don't show up to provide their dimes in support...
It didn't happen in wwe and it's not happening now either
It also happened with dean when he started with his serious tone hardcore matches which wnded with the sparkler ring "explosion"
Or rusev, who got over for like 2 weeks then decided he'd rather play fortnite while they plow his wife
I'm not saying he's always right but a lot of the guys he was "holding back" now proved themselves they had big fucking flaws that made them a lousy choice as top talent of a company
>>
>>16206226
Fair enough, his ceiling was always "the muscle of the group". But as far as that goes, he's one of the best ever.
>>
autist moment but i'm rebooking him as the paul heyman guy instead of curtis axel and giving him the whc and tag belts with chris hero
>>
>>16205330
I agree with and understand the rest of this list but regal 100% had "it".
>>
>>16206624
he should have a full-time commentary job, I don't miss Cody or Phil but I miss Lord Stephen William Regal on commentary
>man in the mask, you saucy little minx you
>>
>>16205313
I saw some clips of his earlier stuff when he was skinnier and was impressed by his workrate, but since he bulked up he's a very awkward worker outside of grizzly deathmatch stuff. The Page feud for me was easily the best thing either has done, and his match with Danielson was good, but as >>16203612 said, when it came time for him to play the face his character work became bland and his in-ring work couldn't cut it. He only really works as a derranged brutal heel. The MVP / Benjamin stuff has been a bit better than his championship fun so far in terms of storytelling at least, but I'm not too hopeful about his in-ring work.
>>
>>16206243
not really, Arn Anderson is the pinnacle of "The muscle of the group" for boomers, Batista for the more modern audience. Cesaro is like top 40 or something I guess.

he was supposed to usher in the new golden era of NJPW now it's an AEW Ass penetration organization
RIP ;_;7
>>
>>16203388
Nakamura. The problem is he is perfectly fine with not trying to have good matches in WWE, and he seems to not mind at all just collecting a paycheck and doing nothing. It’s a shame because I was such a big fan of him in 2016, and now I don’t even expect him to care if he gets released.
>>
>>16205691
Booking and story lines were shit though.
They can give him the props, but when the story is not there and the character is not acting in a consistent way, it's not working.
Same way that WWE have killed the momentum of a multitude of potentially interesting characters.
I can only imagine how bad things are in AEW.

PS: That Aksana girl was could not cut a promo herself. With Zeb they just put him awkwardly next to Swagger and it didn't fit.
>>
I'm going mudshow and saying Shlak
>>
>>16207607
Claudio mogs both those jabronis. Get a clue.
>>

Morrison was dead as soon as Melina exposed he needs dick pills to get his pecker up
>>
>>16206226
>It also happened with dean when he started with his serious tone hardcore matches which wnded with the sparkler ring "explosion"
To be fair, Mox recovered from that shitshow and his peak overness in AEW was over a year later when he cut the "fragile ego, fragile body, fragile mind" promo on Punk. He did start phoning it in again after the Punk feud but it's nowhere near the same as Miro getting cucked
>>
>>16205609
Tbh I was rooting for Joe to beat AJ and fuck his wife
>>
>>16208949
Mox has never phoned it in once in AEW.
>>
>>16208965
Nah he was clearly checked out for the MJF feud and most of 2024 before turning heel again

funny how the chads /pw/ told everybody he was a dimeless mid carder when he jumped to AEW and the trannies screeched for weeks
>>
>>16205313
Swerve loses “it” every time he has a microphone in his hand. He’s not Ricochet tier but still
>>
>>16205360
>If you're going to pick one Hardy who has "it," I'd say it was Matt.
You can’t be serious. Jeff is one of the most naturally charismatic, magnetic performers of all time.
>>
>>16205805
Giving someone the top title in the company and making them the #1 face of the show is ruining his career? wow.

not Vince’s fault Mox wasn’t as over or as good as AJ
>>
>>16209511
Mox is taller and a better promo than AJ, all AJ has is movez spam, which you E-drones are supposed to hate.
